Existence is pain

Oct 10, 2022 1:01 AM

I had an incredibly shitty morning. So I decided to go for a drive.

Drove the 101 highway along the Hood Canal.

Panoramic shot.

The source of the BS for my day is all but certain to rear it's head again tonight, which I'm absolutely not looking forward to. Wish me luck.

May your road's lead you to warm sands.

Sometimes it's the simple things that break us out.

Don't forget to check your BMW blinker fluid level before a long drive.

then your check engine light comes on...

Fortunately not.

I wish taking the metro did that. But it only adds to my stress. And is my transportation.

That sucks indeed.

Aww yiss, V10 BMW goodness. A nice drive, with enough time for the car to wake up is really relaxing.

It was about a 3 hour drive in all. A few stops to stare off into the distance mixed in as well.

Would be nice to take my T/A out for a nice cruise. But with gas near 7 bucks. It 8mpg is rough

Ouch indeed. And I thought 13 mpg in the M5 was bad ...

Also in CA as well

I get it. Sometimes takes a whole tank of gas before I can think straight.

Nice bike! I'd bet that a tank of gas in that will get you a lot further than a tank in mine.

Not really, only about 150 miles. Probably a lot cheaper to fill up.

damn, an M5 BMW....how is that not the source of problems and financial pain in your life. Currently rebuilding a Gen3 EA888 for my GTI 99%

Lol, one would think that's the case right? Yeah, no. Relationship problems.

Bud, women come and go...cars will last forever if well maintained. the car will always tell you whats wrong...your gf...well...no.

You could also find a woman that loves going on drives and supports the car addiction.

yep, and you'll have to fight her current bf/husband for her. Or drag race for her...winner takes all.

The V10 is reliable up until 80k miles when the con rod bearings need replacing. Hopefully the vanos valves haven't gotten more expensive.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's a lot of speculation that the rod bearings were going prematurely because the original owners didn't wait for the engine to warm up.

Oh that's possible. Are there any high mileage BMW V10s out there? I really want one but was afraid of the reliability concerns

There's a few. But preventive maintenance is a big thing with these cars. But that engine rewards your efforts in spades.
