I use to stuff my dogs pills into hot dogs, or wrapped them in Turkey, and he would always eat the meat and spit out the pill. Jerkwad

You did him dirty. After sneaking the pills in you gotta give him the treat. It's dog law

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Had a mutt, who had to take a med. First, I would jam it down his throat fast. He would give me this 'look'. Then he would throw his head

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Back and spit it out like a machine gun. Had to go look for it. That system nixed fast .

Perhaps it’s the 3/4 bottle of booze talking but I wanna hug that doggie and never let go

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Give him the real treat tol

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He’s gonna be pissed when he logs into imgur.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's that scarf say? My phone thinks it's something along the lines of 'pees a lot'.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remember something along those lines

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

dog ate some xylitol, we needed to feed him some activated carbon tablets. We tried to put them in his mouth but he didn't like it.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

After trying various things I tried putting them in his bowl. CRUNCH CRUNCH down they went.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

My dog is too smart for that. Once he gets the “weird tasting cheese” he will not take anything from you.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I once wrapped a pill in bread with PB, gave it to my dog and, a minute later, she swallow the bread and spit the pill on the floor.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can we use this trick on anti-Vaxers?

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

In Germany it worked with free bratwurst...

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Where is the phone? On the forehead?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a Labrador. If it’s at all edible, it’s a ‘treat’.

Favoriting for the next time our “I think I’m allergic to tap water!” corgi gets sick

I need a lot less convincing to eat Necco wafers.

It's what's maybe written on the dog's neckerchief, I'm not sure. Something about more urine - someone who reads Mandarin might help?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Crush the pill into powder and mix through the usual wet food. Never had a problem with it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Give him treat u monster

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cats are smaller, but less cooperative. With cats, the best way to get them to take pills is to literally shove the pills down their throat.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There's special applicators, they hold the pill in front and can load a small amount of water, first pushes the pill then the water /1

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The water will trigger the swallow reflex and cat swallows both. Ofc it doesn't prevent the cat just throwing up after, but it's a start.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If you got cats, you know everything about this is such a massive understatement ?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That first expression says everything.

5 years ago | Likes 96 Dislikes 0

Try to feed me a necco wafer and I’ll make the same face

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can feel his/her disdain lol

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I used to put my Pug's medicine in his wet food, he'd snarf the lot and 40 seconds later I'd see the tablet hiding under his jowl. Sneaky.

You fool!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Very emotive creature right there. My sisters siberian is 18, & an absolute lunatic.

This one?

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I love huskies when I can put down my phone and their noise stops. Hehe.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

18! I thought our boy lived to a good age at just shy of 16. Make sure to pet your sisters dog for me!

Dear lord! You like smelling your own farts??!!

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No but actually, same.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not for neighbours it ain't

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Fair. I didn't mean howl, more chatter and back talk lol. But TOTALLY fair.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

My dog, may he rest in peace, would have some how gotten both, dropped the tablet and ate the food, all in one go

5 years ago | Likes 343 Dislikes 1

Same.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My cat did that. I buried a 2mm tablet in some wet food, she managed to eat all of it but I found the tiny tablet untouched in the plate...

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

For this kinda dog you you gotta crush the pill and mix it in with wet food they like so they CANNOT avoid eating at least most of it.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Loved watching my dog unwrap the pill from the cheese in her mouth and then spit the pill out

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I had a really smart dog that was probably smarter than most kids. You'd sit there, talk to her and explain why she needed the pills

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Of course she was a dog, so not all of it was going through, right? No clue, it really did seem like she understood whole conversations

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My gods did the same???

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My old beagle/basset used to do this. We'd wrap his pills in cheese and seal the edges, and he'd work the pill free and spit it out.

5 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

Put it in, Close His mouth,. And aim His snoot upwards, then rub over his neck. Sometimes activates a swallowing "command"

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's like the cherry stem trick for dogs.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One of our dogs did that as well. We would stick the tablet in a piece of sausage, he would chew around it and then spit it out.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Same here, he was a wiz at avoiding medicine. I miss him.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. And I don't think I'll ever stop missing him, even if it has been almost two decades. I need a new dog...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dont think u ever stop missing. :( And yes, u do need a doggy and so do I. :/ Mine passed in Feb my life is f*ckin empty. :(

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Though he usually would eat it after we tried it with another piece of sausage.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

so in otherwords, your sausage wasnt big enough so you had to give it to him twice

My husky takes any food/treats and places them on the floor for inspection. He is super picky.

5 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 1

Mine too (husky/shepherd mix). He's also super attentive to "manipulation" and hidden intent so he refuses treats when suspicious. :D

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So does my husky! He inspects ANY & ALL food given to him. Only ppl food he eats is meat, cheese, and sweets. Refuses pizza crust. Hes a nut

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It is a rare dog indeed that doesn't enjoy pizza bones...

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Mine loves cheese too. He also loves eggs, we somtimes crack a raw one over his food. Strangely he doesnt like peanut butter.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Laugh herself sick. That's when I learned the story. But, it made it easy to train him tricks, so win-win?
