Joe Rogan is an active threat to the safety of the American people
PassiveCommenter
Joe Rogan was born 1967, the first measles vaccine became available 1963. MMR was introduced 1971. He probably didn't see measles too much as a kid.
LtKernelPopcorn
I once heard Joe Rogan described as "a dumb man's idea of a smart man" and every time I see a story about Joe Rogan, that tracks.
sherlockhooves
Chicken pox is actually thr virus that causes shingles. And even if you get the virus as a kid you still have the chance to get it as an adult. It's a horrible infection that makes you feel like someone is holding burning coals to your skin.
Superchief86
The fact that the chud who hosted fear factor became so many people's thought-leader really explains a lot about the current state of the world.
GrandmasterSpank
Joe Rogan has killed people.
SmellingMistake
At this point we can safely call it disinformation instead of misinformation.
Phaxey
I think it's kinda wrong to give him all the blame. I think him being a threat is rather the consequense of an ignorant, uneducated and unintelligent society. If he stopped, someone else would just take his place with similar success, until society as a whole gets on a better path.
NonstopRampage
The thing is, so long as these grifters are out there, more will try to get in on that action. They're like scuttle flies. They won't go away unless you get rid of ALL of them- and as long as they're out there, society isn't going to get better.
Stinkybuttpants
Why is he so dumb?
jtxyz
And also, just to emphasize for the kids on the back - measles is one of the absolute worst diseases you can get.
No because of the weird little dots that a lot of people think is equivalent to chicken pox, because the damned thing attacks your immune system itself.
"I don't need a vaccine! I have an immune system!"
Not after contracting measles, you don't.
Thorketil
Previously, the potential long-term consequences of a measles infection were not studied. Today, research has made significant progress. Possible consequences of measles include: immune amnesia and immunosuppression, encephalitis or subacute sclerosing panencephalitis, blindness, hearing loss, and pneumonia.
MoxieMonster
I swear RFK was on his show a few months before and said this. Rogan must be on the brainworm diet as well.
PineappleLoopsBroether
Rogan sold his soul to be part of the red wave that thins the heard, in exchange for a tour of the actual classified information about aliens. That’s what his thing was back when we was just a clown, he really wanted to know about aliens. They bought him. He’s a product now, just like bill maher.
FiftyShadesOfTiramisu
Legislators should have foreseen this when the internet gained traction. Everything we're seeing now can be traced to the fact that any moron or crackpot can broadcast information in a format that looks professional or even official, which was bound to undermine trust in traditional institutions and expertise. Even when people can tell the difference between government / health / educational organizations on one hand and private sector information sources on the other, the sheer number of ...
FiftyShadesOfTiramisu
conspiracy nuts, frauds and grifters who are all saying the same, such as "Western medicine bad" or "vaccines dangerous", eventually wears a lot of undereducated individuals down. It looks like too much smoke for there not to be a fire, and most people have a certain distrust of state-sponsored information / potential propaganda. Add social media echo chambers and foreign disinformation campaigns to the picture and you have the perfect shit storm.Eventually people will elect crackpots & grifters
SandyTentaclez
Joe Rogan is absolutely idiotic and it confuses me to this day thay even people bot far right like to pretend like his IQ is anywhere above freezing temperature in Celsius.
CptCaboose
And getting chicken pox leads to possible Zona later in life. This shit hurts like a bitch
theowlofthegame
Remember experts used to get screentime? Pepperidge farm remembers
swedeonamoose
Wish he would just go back to being overly excited about showing vids of bears.
Mack1986
I want him to be crippled by an easily preventable disease because the irony will give me an orgasm bigger than when Helenas blew up

So many people have no idea how effective the vaccines are because they are so effective we've all forgotten how bad the diseases were because virtually noone has died from them in years.
xo66nt
This is a darwinian problem, and I would be fine with it if it wasnt so that the only victims are the innocent children of dumbfucks who listen to rogan for medical advice.
Scattercat
Well, and all the rest of us. No vaccine is 100% effective, and measles is wildly infectious.
DonaIdJ
He’s a threat to the safety of Americans who listen to Joe Rogan. Natural selection
jtxyz
Even with chicken pox you're probably not really immune for life, because the virus can hang out in your nerve cells and reactivate decades later and give you shingles. Same virus, different disease presentation. So maybe Joe Rogan will get shingles in a few years and learn a painful lesson.
psmith00
fortunately, there is a vaccine for shingles. it's a good idea to get it because you really don't want shingles.
FreePalestineAndTheWorldFromIsrael
Anyone who takes medical advice from someone whos an unqualified grifter, they deserve what happens to them. The day we stopped listening to professional experts and started listening to conspiracy theorists is when you know civilisation is collapsing.
ImgurIsOutOfUsernames
That day has already come then. How many people already listen to him? Or Dr Phil? Or RFK Jr? Or fucking Trump with his UV lights and drinking bleach? How many people ate tide pods because of TikTok? Massive numbers of people already do this.
medimr
It's the children of anti-vaxxers who end up suffering, though. They had no choice.
shitheadtookmyname
And ppl who can't get vaccines like babies and cancer patients etc
Astramancer
I occasionally run across engagement games where it's like "if you could know have 1 statistic about your life, what would it be?" I wonder if people like Rogan would actually change their ways if the 1 statistic they knew was "Number of people who died as a direct result of your advice"
300Hectares1TankofKerosene
Who cares. If you take medical advice from a dumbfuck podcaster who’s always high with a dip in his mouth, you deserve what you get. Thin the herd.
JeffDanson
I wish Rogan would have the balls to invite professor Dave on his show. I would actually watch that one.
thatwoodguy
The problem with people who are smart, is they admit that they don't know everything. People like that are so confident about the lack of information they can just make it up on the Fly and not give a shit if it kills anyone
DukeSliscus
Yeah but now every time someone talks about him I can say "I don't listen to people too stupid to know the difference between measles and chicken pox"
RigidGristle

UnoriginalPieceOfRepeatingShit
He's that midgety? Damn. Explains a lot.
vericon151
Joe Rogan is a moron. You only have to listen to him for like 5 seconds to go, wtf, idiot. But he has millions of idiot followers.
ElbowDeepInABlackhole
Tbf I am not taking medical advice from any podcast, and 100x if it’s Joe Rogan offering said medical advice. If someone is taking medical advice from him then they probably have bigger issues than measles.
RyanSilver612
There aren't many things bigger than measles. Tuberculosis, Black Plague, Polio, and viruses from mosquitos. Like measles is one of the big ones.
jasondeslin
The issue is that vaccines have nearly eliminated several diseases because EVERYONE had them.
Now that stupid fucks are listening to stupid asshats, the diseases are coming back.
If they were only killing themselves I'd cheer. If it was just their kids added in I'd consider it a harsh price.
But some people CAN'T get vaccinated for VALID medical reasons.
They should be allowed to shoot these assholes and call it self defense.
shitheadtookmyname
The problem is enough people listen to him and we lose here immunity, which means it will kill babies. The elderly, and immunocompromised ppl
EstoyPoopis
There are A LOT of stupid people in the world. That should not be undermined, as it is now incredibly evident. They should be protected from this misinformation, they may legitimately not be able to discern. And then they vote.
getadogupya
And their kids definately do...
jamesbondq
Unfortunately, if he says something that you already wanted to hear, that's all the information you need to feel validated and close yourself off changing your mind in the future.

zFUBARz
Also the people around them that suffer for their stupidity or gullibility, including all of us.
TussleTheCat
There are no repercussions for spreading misinformation or disinformation, so this will continue in perpetuity. Free speech was always going to end with the destruction of critical thinking and truth. We have already been debating what the definition of a fucking 'fact' is. We are doomed because people are fucking stupid.
medimr
I wonder if we'll ever know his body count from all the medical horseshit he's peddled.
KleptoKea
Or the stupidity of so many Americans who enable the continuation of such people on their platforms by listening in.
ilovetraveler
Very true, but I also have a very hard time feeling sorry for people who die because they looked at this dumbass and thought he was a good source of information. Now, I'm absolutely disgusted and beyond furious that it's not only his followers that will die, because he's affecting herd immunity with this bullshit. I really wish he would die from his stupid pseudoscience bullshit instead of just killing everyone else.
ProjectDA
we wont. its the same argument for how many have died under 'communism' vs capitalism. they will agrue that ever death is counted as the fault of which state they pick, then when you bring up and capitalist deaths 'that doesnt count, that was the fault of .' you can bring up the irish famine and they will still pretend their was nothing that could have been done so its not the fault of capitalism.
he will be the same. attempts to qualify his actions will get bogged down
nclu
Sounds incredibly hard to determine, since he's an idiot riding the same wave of disinformation as his viewers and his guests. It'd be like trying to pin an exact number of deaths on Jenny McCarthy. However, it also sounds like the kind of work a team of dedicated grad students would be put on, examining deep into data from interdisciplinary sources. This wouldn't just be epidemiological data, but psychology and sociology to examine general trends and attach to individual network facilitators.
HandoB4Javert
...wait, I thought it was just horse dewormer...
wurth
I only hope God exists so he can see the total run up at the Pearly Gates, right before the chute door to Hell opens up.
Toqom
Sadly religion was invented by the shitty people
Eyeetsass
I hope the shoot drops him directly into Ronal Reagan’s asshole. I hope that asshole is jam packed with traitors for eternity in the lake of fire.
zHurk777
Related. the body count for trump and the republican party is over 1,000,000 covid deaths. Every one of those deaths is on trump and the gop, because they said: covid would never come here; covid is a hoax; it isn't that bad, it's like the flu; nobody will die from covid; the number of deaths isn't that bad; the number of deaths is less than the flu; the elderly and disabled should die for the economy; the number of death is "almost nothing" when 1,000 Americans per day were dying from covid.
zHurk777
cont'd. ALL of the covid deaths are on trump and the republican party because we have no way of knowing which deaths were unavoidable and inevitable. republicans didn't want to social distance. republicans didn't want to wear a mask. republicans didn't want to get the vaccine. republicans wore "comedy" masks en masse at their state legislatures and in congress to make fun of mask wearing. republicans are disgusting.
batcountry808
If you take medical advice from Joe Rogan and end up dying isn't that just natural selection working as intended? Tbh - I'm more concerned at the thought of his listeners ending up actually breeding at some point
Doubtthedevout
"Condoms dont prevent pregnancy" - joe Rogan probably
delecti
If it were really just his direct listeners sure. But *of course* some of those people have children, and those children will suffer without vaccines. And *other* children who have medical issues preventing vaccination also depend on the rest of us staying vaccinated. And even then, vaccines aren't perfect, and so the rest of us also rely on most of us being vaccinated.
rusrsdude
Tldr vaccinated people help everyone, including those who can't get and/or aren't vaccinated
justfillingthespace
If being stupid only hurt stupid people, we'd have this whole thing solved in like two generations.
