I am a geek. My friends are geeks. We couldn't be happier.

In junior high, a group of friends began dressing up in fantasy garb and started to play in the woods. They created stories about warring kingdoms and defending their homes from orc raids. They would act them out using stuffed gunnysacks as enemy targets for their wooden weapons.

In high school, the group grew and the plots of these gatherings grew more complex. They began to write down what happened during these gunnysack wars to build up an archive of what had happened.

College came around and the heros of these stories moved away from each other. They met during spring, summer and winter breaks when their schedules would align to camp through epic Gunnysack Wars.

To keep in touch with each other, they would write short stories about what happened to their characters between their GWs.

There was no more fear about what would happen if their peers found out that they played make believe in costumes.

Only the joy and pride that they had something special to look forward to and rally around.

They also found other groups like themselves. They became friends.

It became difficult to find time for GWs as responsibilities piled up.

But when they did gather, they took creave advantage.

Marriages, careers, and other life adventures so that the Gunnysack Wars didn't happen some years.

Even so, the bonds formed during this time have stayed strong.

This journey has lasted 18 years.

18 years of being silly, mischievous, and playful.

18 years of adventure, betrayal, and mayhem.

18 years of geeks doing what they do best.

And just what happened to all those years of stories?

5 years ago, we shared our story with you all when our first book published. We got SUCH a big response from this community...
