Still wish that they release a WWII shooter that didn't involve D-day and any campaign that is rarely or never explored

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They're basically the same game. All CODs are.

9 years ago | Likes 197 Dislikes 31

Are you retarded?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 14

You see a mirror again buddy?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Regardless, hoping this WWII game will be fun

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably won't be

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't say they all are. They all had big difference among themselves enough for people to have favorites.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They only did WW2 so that battlefield couldn't.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Um.... you really Battlefield did WW2 already, right? The franchise started off of it, Battlefield 1942 game, early 2000s, great game.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I'm just here to compliment you on your username ❤️

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its been 10 years... oh man i feel old

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even a remaster of the original CoD with today's tech would be welcome.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Honestly I want to see one about the great Emu war, just a game about fighting 60 000 emus and losing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven't playe the last 3 or 4 games in the series but this one honestly looks super cool

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm excited but if I see even a hint of microtransactions I'm out. They straight-up killed recent cods

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You might as well not even take an interest in the game then, of course there will be microtransactions.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a good thing I'm not too fussed then, ay?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bf1 is WW1...

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The average gamer has killed more nazis than the entire Soviet army.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's almost as if market saturation is directly tied to market saturation. Who could have known.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Times don't change, just repeat in loops, based on the attention span of humans

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All of this has happened before, and all of it will happen again.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was my big ephinany when on acid, everything is loops

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Times don't change, just repeat in loops, based on the attention span of humans

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Times don't change, just repeat in loops, based on the attention span of humans

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok yea... But the original modern warfare was good... The shit that rolled down hill after... This should be good and bring out a bf 1942.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just want to say that CoD community asked for a WW2 game for like YEARS but they kept doing these futuristic FPS. Guess what happened 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

After Battlefield 1 release 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think that coincides with our change in interests and desires in video games. Back in 2007 we wanted to see the future of gaming and what

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

it was capable of. In 2017 we're moving into a VR future, we want immersion and realism. It's just about being ahead of the curve.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Since we are about to start ww3 over North Korea it would be nice to see a game based on the Korean war

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't be a world war NK has no allies china doesn't like em nor does Russia so just the a new battle in the never ended Korean War.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh look battlefield 1 did pretty well... Proceeds to copy idea in cod style with even more emotionally distanced it

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 10

BF 1 is WW1 not 2 Yes it's still WW but it still looks better than BF 1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

WW2 is overdone, imho. Have you seen Verdun or Rising Storm 2: Vietnam? Napalm strikes. F'n NAPALM strikes.

9 years ago | Likes 102 Dislikes 10

Opps. I meant Red Orchestra.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

No you were right, Verdun is ww1 and Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is the title. It doesn't have the RO title for this one, RO is soviet-german

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

WW2 Europe and Japanese theaters are overdone. there was still a *lot* more interesting things going on that those two areas.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't know, I'd play as WW2 Japanese. Warcrime simulator 2017

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Should be fun =) I was already impressed with how goddamn scary artillery was in RO2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Verdun was shit. I got my money back from Steam asap. Shame.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Me too. Total let down

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Really? I love Verdun and would like to know why you didn't like it. I thought it was a beautiful portrayal of ww1

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't feel that WW1 works as a FPS game. A soldier had no worth and a generation was sent to the meat grinder. Victoria 2 does it justice.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Have you not played battlefield 1? Seems to work pretty well as a fps....

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

WW1 is not about grizzly heroes gunning down germans. It's about dying a pointless death in a charge, getting shelled or gassed.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Battlefield 1 is basically ww2 with ww1 guns. Verdun is where the realistic trench warfare/mainly bolt action reality is

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Vietnam type of terrain is pretty shit. Grass and bushes every where - campers paradise.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Shellshock for ps2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

those arent WW2 games...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 13

Exactly what he said.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's why he said World War 2 was overdone. He gave examples of good non-WW2, historical shooters.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

what, I thought he was mentioning World War 2 games

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Smells like victory.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gonna just be the same old American push through France we've seen a thousand times before, though. I'm sure of it.

9 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 1

We could have Vietnam, man. Fuckin 'Nam!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Personally I'd love a Vietnam game where you play as the vietcong. I don't think that's been done before (other than Star Wars of course)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup. Another goddamn team of US Super Soldiers who single handedly liberate France.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Just my opinion: I'd like to see a Russian POV of the Winter War in a game.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The Vendetta mission in WAW is one of my fav FPS campaigns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kj7ljvBEBg4

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure I heard a British guy in the trailer, so hopefully we'll get more than one perspective.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a shame no game companies pay mind to other fronts of the war or other perspectives, like a German Campaign for example

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

Battlefield 1942 had Stalingrad and tons of pacific maps;I loved moving carriers close to spawn points and bombing the shit out of everyone!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

BF 1942 was my favorite LAN party game like 10 years ago

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ive always wanted to try a legitimate game based on the western front (the massive stalemate that iirc was the origin of trench warfare)

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Not one with a map based on it, but everything is actually based and originates around the trenches like it did irl

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If we played as a Nazi who genuinely believes they are doing the right thing, or an unwilling German soldier or something would be great.

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

War criminal simulator 2018. But in all seriousness: maybe just a regular member of the Wehrmacht or a forced conscript.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

This would be a great idea, but it's a shame nobody does it cause they are afraid of everyone getting pissy cause "The Nazi's were ALL bad"

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But now you got people offended at the wolfenstein game for killing Nazis.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People are stupid

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Id pay for a WWII shooter that requires a lot of concentration and camping.

Medieval: Mount and Blade

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Red Orchestra 2 fits that bill pretty well

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I see what you did there

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can't wait for Call of Duty Neanderthal Wars!! "Oh sweet I got my Wolly Mammoth kill streak. Aw this guys a try hard using spear".

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

All I care about is zombies, they better do a good job

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

right? i dont want dancing zombies in clown costumes at an arcade. Give me dark and depressing Fuhrerbunker May of 45

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only reason to buy CoD games these days IMO. CoD Zombies is the shit!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only reason I have the new COD was because it came with my xbox1 free. Even then I only play zombies. The game sucks.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Same, cept mine is still in it's shrink wrap.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's only because Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare did so bad. BlOps 3 was meh in my opinion as well.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Didn't IW do really well? It got a lot of flak, but sold like crazy.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It only did good because of the Modern Warfare remaster that was bundled with it. Otherwise, i doubt any people would have bought IW.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can't edit to see all the angry fan boys when they find out that the most common weapons in ww2 were semi automatic rifles

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

*can't wait.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure they know. Ww2 isn't exactly occult knowledge.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You would be surprised about how little people know about history, especially the nuances of military history like this.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd love an FPS that was a bunch of old dudes sitting around drinking telling overblown war stories and the game is as over the top to match

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Sounds like Battlefield: Bad Company

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"did I ever tell you about the time I teabagged the Kaiser?"

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That sounds awesome.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you played with a group of friends, that is EXACTLY what BF 1942(the old one from early 2000's) was.Game mechanics+phys engine=tomfoolery

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I played with friends, but that's not how it went.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should check out Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, it's basically this but set in the old west.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This is correct and factual.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Battlefield 1 was basically a WW2 shooter painted to look like WW1

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Do elaborate

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Not the above comment but it didnt look realistic. Bolt action rifles, trenches etc? They seem to sprint around buildings spray bullets

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well something alot of people forget is in WW1 they actually did have many repeater weapons. Also they actually were sub machine guns P1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And in WW1 you have to remember most of it was pot shots from trench to trench, fairly boring really. So yeah thats unrealistic P2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But not as much as you think. BF1 did a wonderful job of showing the actual the defense against waves of enemies, and made it feel more P3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I know they had machine guns and sub machine guns, but its unrealistic that everyone did

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well sure, but you have to remember this is a game. Would you really have fun poking your head up and down taking pot shot like they did?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Don't forget about battlefield 1... They did it first, went back in time that is.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

To be fair, this game has been in development for 2.5 years, long before the announcement of BF1. Its likely that they didn't know (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

that BF1 was being developed until they were well into development of this game. I just think it's unfair to say they outright copied BF1

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What they should do that almost no one has done is the Korean War. Basically the same weapons as WW2 anyway

9 years ago | Likes 665 Dislikes 4

Slightly more advanced combat, similar weapons yet more advanced mostly on the vehicle side, with tthe main difference being locations

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How about show the Chinese in a WWII game? Or the Winter War?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Lol play as the white death

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What they should do is what no video game studio has done, thumb war

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Play mercenaries

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I have, there are a dozen games with modern korean war, but I am talking about the actual Korean War. No one has done it

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I always thought a game about the hypothetical invasion of mainland Japan would be pretty badass

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What about Soviets vs Mujahadeen? Interesting terrain, both campaigns would kinda be for the bad guys.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

Black ops 2 did that

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Didn't know that. Lost interest in the franchise after MW3. Was it good?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No, It was nice for the flashback missions, other than that it was shit

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I want a WW2 shooter, except from German perspective. Killing soviets and french. later yanks maybe. they played a minor part after all.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

M.A.S.H. : The Video Game

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or Call of Duty: Boer War, that'd be a strange one.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Hard core guerrilla shit with the occasional concentration camp mission, I can dig it

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, you could be sent to one of the first concentration camps, sounds pretty dope.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

CoD: Boxer Rebellion

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where you play as Dan Daly and slaughter the Chinese

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Give us a War of 1812 game

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

There's always War of Rights, which is a Civil War game.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That would probably be best for a RTS if anything, But I would love it. Or a Mexican-American war game

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Rising Storm 2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's Vietnam buddy

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or any other part of WWII. China, the Romanian Bridgehead, Albania, Yugoslavia, Greece, Norway, Finland, Iran, Sicily...so many options 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Sicily has been done, but those other places would be nice.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ahh. My Medal of Honor and CoD 2/3/WaW memory is limited. 2 did North Africa which was a nice change.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah no one really has done Greece. Though, China kinda has been done before.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually cod 2 the big red one went from Africa to Italy and then to France pretty good game only on consoles unless you emulate it.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I just want a WW2 game that does it from the perspective of the germans/japanese. Also of the british, feel there isnt enough of those

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is because Britain only had a supporting role in the war. You see it was our American cousins who single handedly won it for us.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 yet they always just do D-Day, France, Belgium and Stalingrad.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

To be fair, they'll likely copy the globetrotting campaign style from Bf1. I bet we get a wide campaign.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Africa

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Finland would be fitting the CoD series tho. plowing through an infinity of ruskies and chopping their supplylines with motti tactics

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That'd be kinda harsh for players. Playing on easy would be like playin on elite in MW2.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And the hard mode would have you play as a Russian?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(ofc with the obligatory brief meeting with Simo Häyhä)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or the Australian side of WWII would be really cool. Fighting through the marshes in northern Australasia.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

From Choco soldiers to Austens and boomerangs, with the obligatory wirraway gunner mission. You get to support a sentinel tank assault.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What was that game called? Shell Shock? It did tackle that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ok this, but you work in a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, -they could even have a catchy acronym for it- with a wise-cracking crackerjack Dr

9 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

M*E*A*Y*S*L*H*L

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Combine it with Surgeon Simulator

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And plenty of dark humor. Also, a guy that's acts crazy to get out of the army but he's not really crazy.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I love you

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which is fitting because he also doesn't get out of the army.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You could have a whole series of side missions where you play as him and do crazy things.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Being a dolt I don't know what sort of terrain the Korean War was, if it was all hills that would not be that fun

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My bf who was stationed at camp Casey and also trained in Dragon Valley agrees with you.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mostly hills, Korea is very mountainous. Given the size of a CoD map though, you could still get plenty of flat/urban stuff in.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Most of the war was just sitting and waiting for a truce, and than having no conclusive and satisfying end to the war. No good campaign

9 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 6

A good campaign mission could be operation chromite

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Except for, you know, the seesaw battles across all of fucking Korea that almost saw a complete victory for both sides at one time.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Three years were waiting for a truce and just small scale stuff like taking a better position on a hill. Plus retreating isn't fun

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, Destiny?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

They could also.. you know.. make shit up themselves.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

You should let my Grandfather know what maybe the bits of his lower intestine he left there will come back since it was just sitting around,

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Most of the war. He could have lost it in the exciting bit, or shitting it out cause of bad Korean food in the boring bit.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Weird thing is he said he liked the food I guess anything was better than what the army was feeding them at the time.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There were a few offensives that could be done, Chinese offensive and Chosin would be good ones.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Problem is it would all be button prompts cause the Chinese liked to get melee close, Or calling in air strikes, or just a shooting gallery

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also the initial U.S. invasion itself, where the U.S. annihilated N. Korea in a lightning offense.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It would be mainly the Busan pocket and the landing at Inchon. Which I would love to see

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Inchon landing was boring to, we just landed then a little later fought street to street in Seoul

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously! They have done every other major war or conflict. CoD Y U No Korea !?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It could be because they don't want to inflame tensions in a conflict that is technically still ongoing. It'd be banned in Korea

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actually that's pretty true one could argue that the Korean War is still going on because the only thing ever signed was a ceasefire

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's the way the US, NK, and SK see it. Probably China as well. The US is afraid that China might annex an unstable unified Korea.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
