MCNewYorkLives
I think the reason is many of their works start off annoying bc you don't understand the character. But as you gain more of an understanding
Of them and start to actually want them to succeed, you find the quirks endearing. Take Alexis and her "ewww" attitude. Annoying at first
Bc we see her as being vapid and stuck up. But as the show goes on and see her caring and nice side, the "eew" comments become funny
That's exactly it!
Long story short, I cried at the end, it is truly a wonderful show 2/2

Eh, I only drink red wine. I've tried the occasional white here and there but have never much liked them. Will guzzle red with gusto though!

FairweatherHobbyist
Oh I don't know I'm sure that's been said in Sonoma before followed with a discussion about experimenting with Chardonnay in college.

You can have a Merlot that used to be a Chardonnay in wine?
Please don't dismantle my argument by highlighting how little I know of wine.
That's where it breaks. As it turns out, humans *are* more flexible than wine, surprisingly enough.

Thank you
I believe he's "pan" for wine and she's "straight" or "gay" (as in only like one or the other of the two "cis" wines) for red. Further exp.>
>The way he described a wine that used to be one thing and is now another, is often how ppl describe trans ppl. White and red seem to >
>represent gay and straight I think. Liking "what's in the bottle and not on the label" is similar to how ppl say "I like them for who they>
>are on the inside, regardless of what gender/age/sex/etc. they are". Where's the gif with the guy with the Pepsi/coke?
CGWN
Red and white are men and women respectively. She likes men, and she assumed he did too until last night. No, apparently he likes all wines.
DaPPandDaPP
he talking about his orientation. he is bi basically. ?
DickeyBirdie
In the series, it is explicitly stated in other scenes that he's Pansexual. his parents have a problem with it "Why can't you just be gay?"
Sounds more like pan to me
EatYourSoylentGreenAndShutUp
And here we go again with the labels. *sigh*
LongCommentChainAppreciator
Pan cause he likes pan (and the merlot that was a chauvignon is a euphemism for a trans person)
011100000110100101100101
i mean bi people can also be attracted to trans and nonbinary people
DoctorWhoandDallasCowboys
He’s described as pan by his father in the show
HedonistBeard
What a coincidence. My mother described me as pan as well. Or, I mean, she said dense as a frying pan but I got the meaning.
BunnyGoesHopHop
I'm bi and attracted sexually and romantically to trans men and trans women. I never got the idea of what pan is about.
OobedoobScoobyDoobyBenubi
It’s another label people make up to feel special. There’s only 2 sexes, therefore only 3 orientations. Straight, gay, or bi.
needmorecuteanimals
Pan likes the in-between and NB as well. Anything is a go.
i am neither, but people have told me that it really comes down to which label resonates the most with you
What’s Pan?
justlookingatthepicturesokay
Not much. What's a pan with you?
I might be wrong, but sounds more like pansexual, coz he says he likes the wine and not the label.
MrFluffyPookie
TBF either label works. Don't really know many Bi people who only date cis. I go by pan, but I have plenty of friends who use Bi.
PsychoticSmiley

Bc we see her as being vapid and stuck up. But as the show goes on and see her caring and nice side, the "eew" comments become funny
OnoMichiosCharmingHassakuFace
That's exactly it!
OnoMichiosCharmingHassakuFace
Long story short, I cried at the end, it is truly a wonderful show 2/2
anticiv666
Dang okay, I gave up after episode 2 but I will retry it
OnoMichiosCharmingHassakuFace
Good luck!
baronnapalm
Yeah thats a fair appraisal of the show. Not immediately haha funny but they grow on you
JustitiaetFortitudo
Exactly same experience for me. So glad I pushed through.
schmonday
Well, you've convinced me to try it again.
OnoMichiosCharmingHassakuFace
I hope it works for you this time!
SDStephenie
It took me until episode 7 to get into it, but now I truly believe it’s one of the best shows of all time.
OnoMichiosCharmingHassakuFace
Yeah that's about right. It'll be interesting to watch these episodes again, now that I love the characters.
Patxinco
Which show is?
GreyKnightTemplar666
Schitts Creek. It really is a great show. Wonderful characters and they all feel authentic.
derpdevguy
Do they have POC characters or is it just a bunch of white people?
baronnapalm
it's almost entirely white as it's supposed to be a backwater hick town that no one ever moves into or out of
Comet260
Why the fuck don't people tag the damn show?!
TheCriticsWereConciseItOnlyTookFourLines
I'd have phrased it as wonderful characters who are entertainingly extreme caricatures.
lurksohardmotherfuckerswannafindme
Gotta eat the first few episodes to get used to some of the characters. They all grow on you and grow in show. It’s great.
GreyKnightTemplar666
Yup, I hated the family at first, then eventually began to love them as they grew.
ashram1023
at first I was like "I hate these people". toward the end of the show I was like "I hate these people, but I'm also very happy for them".
mondeca
I'm starting to think they're not really talking about wine.
Styxwash
So he's not a wine slut, just a regular slut?
maybeamarecan
angiepai
You caught on!
TwistedHumor732
AncientBreadcrumbs
JEMbalaya
They clearly are. Did you not hear how many times they said wine?
nibler35
You can ? In that case I don’t really understand the Merlot Chardonnay situation
Sage042000
I only drink Capri Sun...Yes officer, can I help you?
rlopez2431415
They are. They literally say wine/s
SkamanSam
I think one big reason it was so great because the father and son are father and son irl.
FallenTurtles
The joy of this scene is you can also interpret this scene as if David is *actually* just talking about wine. It still works.
beoluves
Only its a bit odd because it makes ko sense to only drink red wine.
mrputter
Eh, I only drink red wine. I've tried the occasional white here and there but have never much liked them. Will guzzle red with gusto though!
beoluves
Well, guess I've been shown lol
chiechien
I only drink reds because I have an allergic reaction to many whites.
FairweatherHobbyist
Oh I don't know I'm sure that's been said in Sonoma before followed with a discussion about experimenting with Chardonnay in college.
lDanielHolm
You can have a Merlot that used to be a Chardonnay in wine?
FallenTurtles
Please don't dismantle my argument by highlighting how little I know of wine.
ItHappenedInThe20thCentury
That's where it breaks. As it turns out, humans *are* more flexible than wine, surprisingly enough.
Verbalstunts
Akchully, Merlot and Chadonnay are not wine brands, but grape types. And wine can be mixed.
DeadeicPrints
I get it's a sex euphemism but for what I cannot figure out
ManByTechnicality
CthuluChan
For roommates
Fhant
Oh my god, roommates...
AGoodBoii
In that show they had slept together. Before that she thought he was only into men.
Kailhun
Thank you
zoeelane201
I believe he's "pan" for wine and she's "straight" or "gay" (as in only like one or the other of the two "cis" wines) for red. Further exp.>
zoeelane201
>The way he described a wine that used to be one thing and is now another, is often how ppl describe trans ppl. White and red seem to >
DeadeicPrints
zoeelane201
>represent gay and straight I think. Liking "what's in the bottle and not on the label" is similar to how ppl say "I like them for who they>
zoeelane201
>are on the inside, regardless of what gender/age/sex/etc.
In the series, it is explicitly stated in other scenes that he's Pansexual. his parents have a problem with it "Why can't you just be gay?"
zoeelane201
011100000110100101100101
i am neither, but people have told me that it really comes down to which label resonates the most with you
AGoodBoii
What’s Pan?
justlookingatthepicturesokay
Not much. What's a pan with you?
maybeamarecan
I might be wrong, but sounds more like pansexual, coz he says he likes the wine and not the label.
MrFluffyPookie
TBF either label works. Don't really know many Bi people who only date cis. I go by pan, but I have plenty of friends who use Bi.
PsychoticSmiley
Exactly. He's like captain jack, anything attractive and alive.
Musgofarrin
Pirates just go for the booty?☠️
