This shouldn’t be a thing to even have to advertise. If I deliver something for you, you should cover gas, my car or yours.

Maybe Dominos Feed Their Drivers Beans When They Make Deliveries . I’m sure the customers appreciate the aroma!
hushpuppyextraordinaire
We will even pay you to deliver!!!
hushpuppyextraordinaire
* Now you don’t have to pay for your own gas while delivering our pizzas in our car.
moxythree
Exactly.
ScienceIsNotALiberalConspiracy
While using the company car for delivery, you can fill your own car up with gas. You just need to use their car to deliver the 5 gallon cans of gas to your house. Or maybe they mean "unlimited swipes of a Redneck Credit Card." or something.
Siptro
dominoes has had a fleet of subarus hatchbacks for 3 years in my towns now. only delivery drivers you see in their own cars are those with duis here.
FeloniousMonk13
So, other delivery drivers have to PAY FOR THEIR OWN FUCKING GASOLINE?!? What in the almighty FUCK is the deal with that?!?
moxythree
Right?!?
BobAllen2004
This only thing I can think of to make this make sense is that you get a company car (as in, you can take it home as long as you work there) and they pay for all your gas. But, that would be highly unusual to give part-time drivers a company car to keep.
ajfischler
Having worked at a Dominos way back in the day (as in pre-2000), some would give some pay for mileage driven on shift in your car on top of pay and tips. It was never as much as you actually spent during your shift.
Corrodias
Why is that required for this to make sense? I think a more reasonable and likely option is simply that the drivers use company vehicles while delivering, as stated in the ad.
moxythree
And if they use the company car, they should not have to pay for gas. Even if they use their own car, they shouldn’t have to pay for it.
backrideup9
They'll buy their own GD cars before they'll pay the workers a decent wage. FFS.
squishybaker
that's normal, it's a company car used for business, the driver shouldn't ever pay.
moxythree
I agree. The fact that it’s a selling point for a job makes me angry.
CosplayComet
I know someone who delivers pizza. This would save them a lot of money. Gonna see if they do this in my area...
Madchant
Do they drive the company car?
CosplayComet
Nope. They drive their own, but they work for a different chain. This might convince them to change, if they offer this around here.
GeneralMinuteman
The only thing more ridiculous than this is having to announce that this is policy so people will actually apply to be your delivery driver. It should have always been thus.
sevensided
Using a company car is the big deal here, not the gas. Every place I delivered pizza for in college had gas mileage pay on top of the normal pay. Course, that was almost 20 years ago...
moxythree
My thoughts exactly.
