Newsom is not the savior, but he can show us the way. Sadly, we have a whole ass population of people who only understand politics through memes and meme sharing. Marketing and social media managers need to understand this and employ people who can create, share truth snippets in the style of memes. This how we got rumpT. This is how we get rid of him.
I will be printing 20 copies of this to sprinkle around on the maggots desks at the office tomorrow. May the hypocrites cries be heard for miles around.
Name calling may be necessary to win public support, but this appears to be the sole occupation of Imgur and other sites. That will not get the job done. Eschew the horseshit, create and promote meaningful policies.
Looking at these comments, especially the negative, it kind of explains why the left can’t win in America lol. Can’t even get it together to agree on who to support
Lol the negative comments coming out seem to be trolls, which just tells me Newsoms campaign is working.
The biggest US issue is the Electoral College method of counting votes, which groups votes into 'points" for each candidate per state, and does not just count the total votes.
This is how Hilary Clinton WON the most votes for President - more Americans voted left. So you are incorrect we did get it together to majority vote left. But the E.C. distributed more point-weight to red states.
This comment section doesn't understand that I'll happily use Newsome as a blunt instrument to knock the GOP stranglehold over this country loose and then quickly replace him when the bleeding is staunched
As an outsider it seems a bit early to start campaigning for president... but I'm also consistently baffled by all the headlines about how angry Trump is about this or that because, like, who cares? He's still president and the GOP is blowing up and looting your country.
Add Jesus holding a lamb, both of which are ignoring the other while trying to get to Newsom. Also Optimus Prime, a T-Rex, the green Power Ranger and another Jesus.
I’m not a huge Newsome fan- but something like what he is doing needs to be done all over the party. The republicans should be getting angry about all the stupid shit they’ve been doing, and it seems that this is a good way to start.
He should take a photo of where he's down in front and then there's all his supporters dressed up in armor with swords hailing him. That would really Drive Trump crazy
I dislike Newsom very much... I dislike George W Bush more than I dislike Newsom. If I could go back in time and give George W Bush a 3rd term in 2016 and it means erasing Trump from the timeline, I'd fucking do it.
Like almost all Democrats, he's center-right, which is not my cup of tea. He strikes me as a narcissist, but almost all politicians do, so I can't hold that against him too much. And something about him rubs me the wrong way, but in all likelihood, I'll be voting for him in 2028 regardless. Now is not the time to be picky.

I personally know Newsom, and know that he is an absolutely soulless opportunist. He sold out progressives over and over in CA--and is still doing it. However, I still back him in any fight with Trump etc. And I trust Democrats to keep him in line if he got into power.
LOL trust Democrats - I wish we truly had an opposition movement within government, but the D & R are more alike than different. They absolutely agree that there should be only D and R on the ballot, and corporate interests are their bedrock of policy. There’s nothing more repulsive than Trump, so that’s the bottom of right wing awful. Newsom is better by far, but he’s more mercenary than knight.
His track record here in California, like most of our Democratic governors in my lifetime, has been to keep the more liberal legislature "in line." He vetoes shit once, twice, then ok's it the third time, mostly unchanged. It's a good policy and people wanted it, why couldn't we have had it two years ago?
He's trying to force return to office on state employees right now despite the reams of evidence being shoved in his face that it'll cost more and fuck up productivity.
That's true and it's not the preference of the employees, I'm sure. That said, for many agencies, there is an expectation that if you go to a government office, that someone will be there. I think the private sector's turn away from WFH is gross, but the public sector plays a different role in our society.
I'm not looking for a savior to worship. I'm looking for someone to stand up to Trump. At this point, I'll take wheat I can get because I don't see a lot of other politicians doing it.
People nationwide need to realize that anyone anti-Trump/MAGA needs to be platformed and allied together in order to stop his regime. We dont live in a country where we can afford to not vote for someone because we disagree with some of their policies. Once we have gotten rid of the Trump blight from our political system maybe we can go back to trying to have things be what they used to be.
Soulless opportunist indeed. The fact that his sights are focused on the presidency and the fact that he's showing up in the news non-stop has me extremely concerned. And then looking around IMGUR comments I can see him winning over idiots who can't be arsed to look back at his track record of broken promises and corruption. Instead they see a young presidential-looking guy and think "Yeah, he's probably good enough. Has to be better than Trump!"
The only reason I'd support him against trump is in the hopes they burn each other out. Other than that he's basically auditioning to be Trump's replacement, and not exactly in the 'elected for president' sense.
He will be a frontrunner in the democratic primary without a doubt, he's got the right face, the right memes, and the donors already know they can buy him so he'll have plenty of rich megadonors he can lean on. If the election is Trump VS Newscum then I would vote for him, but lets all hope and pray that we have a different choice available.
YEAH it's so great how he made no meaningful changes and allowed trump to regain power despite the fact that he was polling at 37% in the favorability polls. So great, lets just pretend that he was a good president that way we don't need to admit we were wrong! You are as deep into an echochamber as the average MAGA is, why don't you go watch some more MSNBC coverage about how Bidens farts smell like cinnamon rolls and how he's actually mentally fit and with it behind the scenes.
It's almost like vote-blue-no-matter-who doesn't fucking work. It's ALMOST like vote-blue-no-matter-who has doomed us all to a second Trump term. IT'S ALMOST LIKE your vote-blue-no-matter-who ideology has been consistently wrong time and time again, first Hillary, then Biden, then Harris, now Newscum. It's almost like you vote-blue-no-matter-who's have been an anchor around our neck for over a decade now. When will you learn the lesson?
The American people on the whole are not bright, and have to be taught lessons repeatedly on choosing dictators over democracy. I hope we'll get there one day, but voting blue no matter who, didn't doom us. Votes for Trump did.
We’ll graciously accept any ally against this enemy. In the absence of the rule of law we should all feel pressed, and desperate. Right now anyone not kneeling I will call friend.
Democrats don’t need idealist at the moment. We need people who will actually fight. He is one of the few showing a willingness to fight atm, so I’ll take it. We can discuss philosophy when MAGA is gone.
Yeah, Newsom's doing the same shit as tRump on sweeping homeless camps, threatening to jail people, etc as if the unhoused will magically evaporate and isn't doing jack-shit with helping them. He doesn't see them as human beings at all! BUT i'll take a temp ally who's got the stones to push back at tRump & puts a fife under more Dens!
In the end, the obligation to vote is still there. The goal shouldn't be focused on if we like people, but simply choosing who will do the least damage because everything is truly fucked.
Choosing the person who does the least damage is the way we got here to begin with. If you never have someone who pushes things forward, you only have the person that pushes two steps back, or the person that pushes us half a step back. But a half step back is still a step back.
The lesser of two evils is still evil. And the idea that that will get us closer to good is fucking lunacy
The other option is voting for people who will actually change things. If you think the only other option is not voting then you are blind and unwilling to put any work into making progress happen.
Progress is only slow and painful when you leave it in the hands of others. And voting for the lesser of two evils is not progress, it is just a slower demise.
Your assumption that you will always have at least one good choice is naive. I've learned to speak about voting in a way that might sway someone with total party loyalty. I don't live in whatever nice state you do that always votes left. You have to vote, even if you don't "like" either candidates. It's not a like contest. They are public servants.
How dare you speak with critical analysis of politics in the face of their reactionary drivel. Don't you know the answer is to fall in line and do what the establishment tells you to do?
How could I have know ln that asking more from your elected officials was such an unreasonable position and we should just lie down and take the crumbs they hand us.
Mamdani's "miracle" is called "actually appealing to voters". He's completely dominating the opposition so far, and polls show that even if one or two of the major opponents dropped out there's not enough of an "anyone but Mamdani" bloc to unify behind whoever was left and push them ahead.
Adams and Cuomo couldnt even Voltron their way to a win. Neither of them are pulling out, Sliwa wont pull out either. But even though there's no path for them we cannot stop assuming Zohran is the underdog.
Seriously, when will democrats learn to run candidates that can win in AMERICA. This country is bigoted and racist, Zohran is a great candidate and would absolutely destroy Trump in a debate ... he would then go on to lose the general election.
Same story every time. We run a progressive candidate that appeals to the far left and our center-right country votes for the fascists.
When have the dems fielded a progressive presidential candidate in the general election?
There was a representative race here in Oregon in 2022 after the redistricting where a progressive candidate unseated the long-time incumbent who'd been steadily trending right. The democratic PACs immediately abandoned the race and chalked it up as a lost cause. Only for the outcome to be within 2.1%
That wasn't a mistake, that was deliberate sabotage. The "corporate toady" wing of the Democrats would rather lose to a Republican than see an actual leftist in office; just look at how they're panicking over losing control of NYC.
I actually agree with you there, but speaking from a cultural standpoint relative to the electorate she absolutely is left of center. Our democrat party is essentially right of center for the most part.
Gavin Newsom is the most electable democrat on the national stage and he's closer to a Reagan era republican than Bernie Sanders.
You guys need to learn some basic shit, I can't believe we're still in this fucking conversation after reality has slapped you in the face over and over again, we're not a progressive nation. We're a conservative one, if we put a Zohran like in the General we will LOSE.
What we are, at least right now, is a deeply frustrated populist nation. That's why people like Mamdani or Sanders are popular, and it's why Trump won. Bland focus-group-tested establishment types are what the voters are rejecting more than anything else.
He's popular where he is popular, in the vast majority of places we need wins to control the house/senate he'd lose without a percentage of a vote. This is something you guys lose because you celebrate too much this win, he'd be slaughtered in Maricopa.
Yes, Neoliberal. As in the majority of liberals in the USA within our democracy, as in the people who vote and you need to work with because as a progressive your a smaller part of the party.
So are you talking about governorship or presidential? CA is more conservative than a lot of folks think, but a someone like a Jared Polis or Tina Kotek would do pretty well. Probably not much a Maura Healey due to the amount of oppo spending corporations would do.
General, Presidential is what I meant. We can and should get a lot more push at local levels and see it progress, that'd be awesome. But when it comes to the time when the vast majority of idiots out there vote, we just need the right story.
But more generally, we honestly don't know how the American public feels about a progressive presidential candidate; we've never had one in the general. And there's a lot of special interest funding to primary against potential candidates even on the early on ramps. At least pre-Trump I would say there was a pretty good chance. Haven't spent a long time in red states, I will say a lot of folks in Trump country are surprisingly gun-ho about progressive polices when they are explained.
We do know how they feel. Dude, we absolutely do know how they feel. Half of the voting population sees them as the end of US Democracy and the half sees them as part of the party platform (now). We didnt get one in the general because one can't win across the states, not even within the liberal party. I've spent a lot of time in the red states, you can't reach these people with logic and facts. They've been voting against their own best interest for generations now.
Let's be realistic, absent party names, we're every bit as progressive a population as any EU country. The problem is the constant brainwashing that makes the very mention of "Democrat" or "Republican" shuts down rational thought in most people. Progressive *policies* are insanely popular across party lines. To say nothing of the fact that our population leans HEAVILY left, but the electoral college, Senate, and lack of ranked choice stacks the odds in favor of the red empty land.
Yes, its not the logical reality most people want. Most Americans willingly vote against their own best interest, we have a large proportion of our population that believe in Angels. We're not that smart, the story is important and in the good ol USA the idea of socialist alone (ignorant of its actual meaning) puts you an outcast in the liberal party.
It did JUST work. We literally JUST had our guy in office passing the most progressive policies I've seen in my lifetime. It didn't work when millions of registered democrats sat out the last election in comparison. It DID work when we won seats in the house/senate in places that weren't deep blue DNC controlled areas of New York.
You couldn't be more wrong and are showing your ass while doing it. The country consistently wants more progressive politicians, hence voting for them. But then the DNC (not the people, mind. The leaders) refuse a more progressive platform and usually sabotage or outright throw the race, or like with Zohran Mamdani's run, start actively pushing for his republican opponents to win.
That's not "a conversative nation", that just means democrat LEADERS are choosing conservative over progressive.
New York City likes its progressives, yes. Thats not the USA. The DNC do not "refuse" anything, the progressive platform was adopted by the last Neoliberal in office and the most progressive platform passed in your lifetime with a 50/50 split during the maga times. No one sabotages anyone, the DNC SUPPORTS ZOHRAN, HE IS THE DNC. You're just aiding the enemy of progress.
You need to see some of this nation man. We're deeply conservative. Super fucking sexist and absolutely not ready to put anyone in POTUS with "socialist" anywhere near their name. This is stuff actual politicians know and its why people like Bernie Sanders and AOC BEG YOU GUYS to vote for the Neoliberals when they get the nom.
This is strange defeatism, do you not know what a democracy is? Are you unaware of the rest of the world? I agree though, a lot of people fell for Propaganda and decided to not vote this last election. They're all accountable for the outcome like everyone else, except they abdicated their duty and have no right to bitch.
Pointing to what you're saying and pointing out it's pathetic that you can't just vote against the fascists is defeatism? That's not what that word means.
This is such an outright lie. There's a reason he's winning by such a landslide in all the polls. There's a reason the DNC had to sabotage Bernie when he was winning the primaries TWICE. Get real.
No one sabotaged anyone, people got behind the candidate they wanted to and voted. He wasn't "winning" if he was than Trump "won" against Biden, get real.
What are you talking about? He won the primaries in two separate election cycles. People did vote for the candidate they wanted and he won. On super Tuesday in the last cycle, the four people ahead of Biden all dropped out at once, indicating a payment. Amy fucking Klobuchar had more votes than Biden. You don't know what you're talking about so maybe sit this one out.
This is the fantasy and ignorance of some of the left that drives me nuts, he didn't win a single primary. Thats your fantasy. The math doesn't work in your favor, also yes as in every single time we have ever had any form of primary, eventually other candidates back out and support the one they support (thats democracy and freedom) there was no "indication of a payout" thats the fantasy BERNIE HIMSELF TELLS YOU IS A LIE AND CALLS YOU A LIAR.
Notice how you ignore the other progressive that stayed in longer, odd that. These people aren't as stupid as you, they don't yell "stop the count" like you idiots do. They knew that the outcome was likely to be massively split so they backed the candidate they supported, which is how democracy in the USA works. Yet you wanted them to stop the counting, its somehow "unfair" that Bernie had to compete with someone else unless that person was split up by four other people.
This is just so surreal. I campaigned for Bernie, I fucking got a bunch of stoners/burnouts to register and vote for him. HE DIDNT WIN THE PRIMARY he DIDNT EVEN ACTUALLY GET CLOSE AT THE END. No one "rigged" anything, you're just upset. Unless you're arguing its WRONG FOR PEOPLE TO SUPPORT THE CANDIDATE THEY THINK WILL WIN AND IS BEST FOR THEM. You are arguing for some kinda fascist take over of the DNC where you can't choose who you want anymore.
You're the morons who sit out the vote and then complain about how you weren't catered too enough. Privileged assholes living simple easy lives while others suffer because of your fucking ignorance and ego. You're the EXACT PERSON Bernie Sanders fucking hates with a passion and we know that man has passion, you're the EXACT PERSON MLK Jr. was talking about. You're the enemy of progress because of your fucking own EGO. Disgusting animal.
This is surreal. It really is, you're reinventing history this close to it happening. Using a literal conspiracy theory that no one you support, supports, to argue your entire point. You're using ignorance of how our democracy works and a MAGA level conspiracy and saying "look, my facts" and its surreal. You know why they backed Biden? Because they believed he would win and push forward the policies they believed in. I'm talking about Bernie and AOC.
Like, your argument is massively fascist. Somehow it was "unfair" or "rigging" that Bernie had to fucking COMPETE in the primary. That he had to go up against Biden alone was somehow unfair, that somehow the voting population was mass mind controlled or something. Those people dropping out DID NOT MAKE PEOPLE CHANGE THEIR VOTE FROM BERNIE TO BIDEN. Fucking hell you idiots drive me nuts, you're on the MAGA mindset. "Bernie won, stop COUNTING PLEASE!"
The four people ahead of Biden are Americans who had the right to do what always happens in every primary, unless you're arguing for an authoritarian system thats an OK thing to happen. Thats democracy, your issue isn't with "rigging" its with the fact you didn't get EXACTLY what you wanted in the democracy you live in. Learn more about how primaries work and stop spreading lies, stop pushing the narrative BERNIE SANDERS BEGS YOU TO STOP PUSHING.

Democrats don’t need idealist at the moment. We need people who will actually fight. He is one of the few showing a willingness to fight atm, so I’ll take it. We can discuss philosophy when MAGA is gone.
yoyo42
Progressive advances require a fertile landscape to spread and thrive. Currently we're still at the "needs weedkiller and flamethrowers" stage.
LittleChickadee
Yeah, Newsom's doing the same shit as tRump on sweeping homeless camps, threatening to jail people, etc as if the unhoused will magically evaporate and isn't doing jack-shit with helping them. He doesn't see them as human beings at all!
BUT i'll take a temp ally who's got the stones to push back at tRump & puts a fife under more Dens!
youngfarty
Just today, Daniel Kibblesmith said:
Say what you will about Gavin Newsom, but he’s a fighter, whether that’s against Trump, trans children, or his own constituents with nowhere to live.
And that really summed it up for me.
theworldcouldbeflat
California would be so much better of with a Governor like Ron Desantis. /s
PastureofMuppets
Even the might slash-s isnt enough to make the preceeding sentence not nauseating
theworldcouldbeflat
Then why is top comment always some Democrat bash?
TheLastBootyBender
Because left leaning people aren't a cult and can criticize those who are "on my side"
theworldcouldbeflat
Yeah that explains the comments, but not really why it's always too comment so I'm going to point out how dumb it is.
unluckyandbored
The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy. No more or less.

In the end, the obligation to vote is still there. The goal shouldn't be focused on if we like people, but simply choosing who will do the least damage because everything is truly fucked.
NinjablazerZero
Choosing the person who does the least damage is the way we got here to begin with. If you never have someone who pushes things forward, you only have the person that pushes two steps back, or the person that pushes us half a step back. But a half step back is still a step back.
The lesser of two evils is still evil. And the idea that that will get us closer to good is fucking lunacy
VaultGirl69
The other option is not voting at all. You can't have it both ways. Progress is slow and painful.
NinjablazerZero
The other option is voting for people who will actually change things. If you think the only other option is not voting then you are blind and unwilling to put any work into making progress happen.
Progress is only slow and painful when you leave it in the hands of others. And voting for the lesser of two evils is not progress, it is just a slower demise.
VaultGirl69
Your assumption that you will always have at least one good choice is naive. I've learned to speak about voting in a way that might sway someone with total party loyalty. I don't live in whatever nice state you do that always votes left. You have to vote, even if you don't "like" either candidates. It's not a like contest. They are public servants.
TheDoctorCrankenstein
How dare you speak with critical analysis of politics in the face of their reactionary drivel. Don't you know the answer is to fall in line and do what the establishment tells you to do?
(/s if it ain't obvious)
NinjablazerZero
How could I have know ln that asking more from your elected officials was such an unreasonable position and we should just lie down and take the crumbs they hand us.

I feel like Mamdani’s gonna need a miracle, because he’s still slightly too threatening to them. I’m also feeling pretty jaded at the moment tho, fwiw
EchoPMIM
Mamdani's "miracle" is called "actually appealing to voters". He's completely dominating the opposition so far, and polls show that even if one or two of the major opponents dropped out there's not enough of an "anyone but Mamdani" bloc to unify behind whoever was left and push them ahead.
RunningDroid
The difference between the DSA's tactics and the DNC's tactics could be all the miracle he needs:
KillerTofu69
Adams and Cuomo couldnt even Voltron their way to a win. Neither of them are pulling out, Sliwa wont pull out either. But even though there's no path for them we cannot stop assuming Zohran is the underdog.
TheGrCheeseCat
Seriously, when will democrats learn to run candidates that can win in AMERICA. This country is bigoted and racist, Zohran is a great candidate and would absolutely destroy Trump in a debate ... he would then go on to lose the general election.
Same story every time. We run a progressive candidate that appeals to the far left and our center-right country votes for the fascists.
Tackyellow
When have the dems fielded a progressive presidential candidate in the general election?
There was a representative race here in Oregon in 2022 after the redistricting where a progressive candidate unseated the long-time incumbent who'd been steadily trending right. The democratic PACs immediately abandoned the race and chalked it up as a lost cause. Only for the outcome to be within 2.1%
EchoPMIM
That wasn't a mistake, that was deliberate sabotage. The "corporate toady" wing of the Democrats would rather lose to a Republican than see an actual leftist in office; just look at how they're panicking over losing control of NYC.
TheGrCheeseCat
Good point, we run left of center candidates like Hillary and Dems stay home because "she's just as bad as Trump." Same thing in my mind.
MoopsyLD
they just dont understand heros aren't born, they're made, just replace a hero with perfect candidate
TheDoctorCrankenstein
Holy fuck I am laughing so goddamn hard at you calling fucking Hillary Clinton "left of center".
Absolutely hilarious how ignorant that statement is.
TheGrCheeseCat
I actually agree with you there, but speaking from a cultural standpoint relative to the electorate she absolutely is left of center. Our democrat party is essentially right of center for the most part.
Gavin Newsom is the most electable democrat on the national stage and he's closer to a Reagan era republican than Bernie Sanders.
My point is anyone to the left of Hillary is gonna be at a disadvantage on the national stage. Let that sink in. https://media4.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1
SisyphusRollin
You guys need to learn some basic shit, I can't believe we're still in this fucking conversation after reality has slapped you in the face over and over again, we're not a progressive nation. We're a conservative one, if we put a Zohran like in the General we will LOSE.
EchoPMIM
What we are, at least right now, is a deeply frustrated populist nation. That's why people like Mamdani or Sanders are popular, and it's why Trump won. Bland focus-group-tested establishment types are what the voters are rejecting more than anything else.
SisyphusRollin
He's popular where he is popular, in the vast majority of places we need wins to control the house/senate he'd lose without a percentage of a vote. This is something you guys lose because you celebrate too much this win, he'd be slaughtered in Maricopa.
Smogy
No rather ultra capitalist and neoliberal. Meaning that everything has to exist to make a profit from.
SisyphusRollin
Yes, Neoliberal. As in the majority of liberals in the USA within our democracy, as in the people who vote and you need to work with because as a progressive your a smaller part of the party.
zzxcvb
So are you talking about governorship or presidential? CA is more conservative than a lot of folks think, but a someone like a Jared Polis or Tina Kotek would do pretty well. Probably not much a Maura Healey due to the amount of oppo spending corporations would do.
SisyphusRollin
General, Presidential is what I meant. We can and should get a lot more push at local levels and see it progress, that'd be awesome. But when it comes to the time when the vast majority of idiots out there vote, we just need the right story.
zzxcvb
But more generally, we honestly don't know how the American public feels about a progressive presidential candidate; we've never had one in the general. And there's a lot of special interest funding to primary against potential candidates even on the early on ramps. At least pre-Trump I would say there was a pretty good chance. Haven't spent a long time in red states, I will say a lot of folks in Trump country are surprisingly gun-ho about progressive polices when they are explained.
SisyphusRollin
We do know how they feel. Dude, we absolutely do know how they feel. Half of the voting population sees them as the end of US Democracy and the half sees them as part of the party platform (now). We didnt get one in the general because one can't win across the states, not even within the liberal party. I've spent a lot of time in the red states, you can't reach these people with logic and facts. They've been voting against their own best interest for generations now.
ProbablyWrong524
Let's be realistic, absent party names, we're every bit as progressive a population as any EU country. The problem is the constant brainwashing that makes the very mention of "Democrat" or "Republican" shuts down rational thought in most people. Progressive *policies* are insanely popular across party lines.
To say nothing of the fact that our population leans HEAVILY left, but the electoral college, Senate, and lack of ranked choice stacks the odds in favor of the red empty land.
SisyphusRollin
Yes, its not the logical reality most people want. Most Americans willingly vote against their own best interest, we have a large proportion of our population that believe in Angels. We're not that smart, the story is important and in the good ol USA the idea of socialist alone (ignorant of its actual meaning) puts you an outcast in the liberal party.
lmullins573
Not putting someone like Zohran in there is why we lost in the first place. Everyone is tired of having two republican parties.
SisyphusRollin
You guys live in a bubble.
lmullins573
Nah man, living in a bubble is trying the same thing over and over again even though it doesn’t work.
SisyphusRollin
It did JUST work. We literally JUST had our guy in office passing the most progressive policies I've seen in my lifetime. It didn't work when millions of registered democrats sat out the last election in comparison. It DID work when we won seats in the house/senate in places that weren't deep blue DNC controlled areas of New York.
IchtacaSebonhera
You couldn't be more wrong and are showing your ass while doing it. The country consistently wants more progressive politicians, hence voting for them. But then the DNC (not the people, mind. The leaders) refuse a more progressive platform and usually sabotage or outright throw the race, or like with Zohran Mamdani's run, start actively pushing for his republican opponents to win.
That's not "a conversative nation", that just means democrat LEADERS are choosing conservative over progressive.
SisyphusRollin
New York City likes its progressives, yes. Thats not the USA. The DNC do not "refuse" anything, the progressive platform was adopted by the last Neoliberal in office and the most progressive platform passed in your lifetime with a 50/50 split during the maga times. No one sabotages anyone, the DNC SUPPORTS ZOHRAN, HE IS THE DNC. You're just aiding the enemy of progress.
SisyphusRollin
You need to see some of this nation man. We're deeply conservative. Super fucking sexist and absolutely not ready to put anyone in POTUS with "socialist" anywhere near their name. This is stuff actual politicians know and its why people like Bernie Sanders and AOC BEG YOU GUYS to vote for the Neoliberals when they get the nom.
GogaMagnet
If you, as a nation, can't just vote against the fascists then you're fucked anyway. It's pathetic.
SisyphusRollin
This is strange defeatism, do you not know what a democracy is? Are you unaware of the rest of the world? I agree though, a lot of people fell for Propaganda and decided to not vote this last election. They're all accountable for the outcome like everyone else, except they abdicated their duty and have no right to bitch.
GogaMagnet
Pointing to what you're saying and pointing out it's pathetic that you can't just vote against the fascists is defeatism? That's not what that word means.
neo154
They want him. At least around 40-55% of the people.
Krossis
*Of the people that voted*
PlanckEraWasMyBestEra
Not counting the disenfranchised, purged, gerrymandered votes that never got to count, not to mention the very real possibility of actual fraud
GogaMagnet
Two thirds of voters didn't vote against fascism...
mothermushroom
This is such an outright lie. There's a reason he's winning by such a landslide in all the polls. There's a reason the DNC had to sabotage Bernie when he was winning the primaries TWICE. Get real.
SisyphusRollin
No one sabotaged anyone, people got behind the candidate they wanted to and voted. He wasn't "winning" if he was than Trump "won" against Biden, get real.
mothermushroom
What are you talking about? He won the primaries in two separate election cycles. People did vote for the candidate they wanted and he won. On super Tuesday in the last cycle, the four people ahead of Biden all dropped out at once, indicating a payment. Amy fucking Klobuchar had more votes than Biden. You don't know what you're talking about so maybe sit this one out.
SisyphusRollin
This is the fantasy and ignorance of some of the left that drives me nuts, he didn't win a single primary. Thats your fantasy. The math doesn't work in your favor, also yes as in every single time we have ever had any form of primary, eventually other candidates back out and support the one they support (thats democracy and freedom) there was no "indication of a payout" thats the fantasy BERNIE HIMSELF TELLS YOU IS A LIE AND CALLS YOU A LIAR.
SisyphusRollin
Notice how you ignore the other progressive that stayed in longer, odd that. These people aren't as stupid as you, they don't yell "stop the count" like you idiots do. They knew that the outcome was likely to be massively split so they backed the candidate they supported, which is how democracy in the USA works. Yet you wanted them to stop the counting, its somehow "unfair" that Bernie had to compete with someone else unless that person was split up by four other people.
SisyphusRollin
SisyphusRollin
You're the morons who sit out the vote and then complain about how you weren't catered too enough. Privileged assholes living simple easy lives while others suffer because of your fucking ignorance and ego. You're the EXACT PERSON Bernie Sanders fucking hates with a passion and we know that man has passion, you're the EXACT PERSON MLK Jr. was talking about. You're the enemy of progress because of your fucking own EGO. Disgusting animal.
SisyphusRollin
This is surreal. It really is, you're reinventing history this close to it happening. Using a literal conspiracy theory that no one you support, supports, to argue your entire point. You're using ignorance of how our democracy works and a MAGA level conspiracy and saying "look, my facts" and its surreal. You know why they backed Biden? Because they believed he would win and push forward the policies they believed in. I'm talking about Bernie and AOC.
SisyphusRollin
Like, your argument is massively fascist. Somehow it was "unfair" or "rigging" that Bernie had to fucking COMPETE in the primary. That he had to go up against Biden alone was somehow unfair, that somehow the voting population was mass mind controlled or something. Those people dropping out DID NOT MAKE PEOPLE CHANGE THEIR VOTE FROM BERNIE TO BIDEN. Fucking hell you idiots drive me nuts, you're on the MAGA mindset. "Bernie won, stop COUNTING PLEASE!"
SisyphusRollin
The four people ahead of Biden are Americans who had the right to do what always happens in every primary, unless you're arguing for an authoritarian system thats an OK thing to happen. Thats democracy, your issue isn't with "rigging" its with the fact you didn't get EXACTLY what you wanted in the democracy you live in. Learn more about how primaries work and stop spreading lies, stop pushing the narrative BERNIE SANDERS BEGS YOU TO STOP PUSHING.
