My latest binge is penguinz0/Moistcritical and also the something anarchist that talks about how people who try to take him on always fail. The best thing is that he’s been doing it for years so there’s just so much and with KallmeKris, James’s ugly side of beauty and Swoop there’s content for weeks.
and once again, there is no such thing as a pretzel cutting championship. This is a game show with stars doing random trivia, sport and guessing games against each other and this is one of the games.
I think people know and unless they don't what harm does thinking such a thing exists do for the purpose of a meme? Lmao "ones again" how much does this anger you
It's not a championship, it's a TV gameshow called "Schlag den Star" (used to be "Schlag den Raab" because it featured Stefan Raab), where contestants (usually celebrities) play weird/funny games and trivia quizzes against each other. You can find a lot of it on YouTube, though I imagine it isn't dubbed or subbed.
My girlfriend and I immediately started turning this into a shounen anime. "Everything's riding on this one cut, but with my friends behind me, I'm sure to win!" "Owwaa! An air bubble inside the pretzel!? Oh no, that's going to alter the total mass! How can I turn this around!?" "N-nani!? Is that- it's a DIAGONAL SLICE! IMPOSSIBLE!"
This was "just" a silly show not any sort of championship so that level of precision is good enough (but yes you would be right if this were more serious, also it would need at least one more number)
Tbh they still could be. The dough could be more dense in spots so regardless of whether or not their the same weight they still won't look for feel as filling because of it
Then flip a coin. Or the parent can assign one to be the cutter if the other is trying to pick their position for an unfair advantage, such as if the older sibling knows the younger is bad at telling where half is and wants to use that to choose the bigger piece.
If the scale was sensitive enough for partial gram precision it could just add another decimal or two in accordance to what the scale is rated for. Nothing is lost here.
They're supposed to be scales you see in a supermarket. Those are always kg. And it literally doesn't fucking matter because you just move the decimal.
It does matter, because you get more decimals in gram mode. Kg rounds off to nearest gram, so you can't see if one was 44.2g and the other one was 44.3g...
You always have to round at some point. Yeah, because we all know how useful it is to go to the supermarket and weigh your 45grams of fruits but you're missing that 0.1g and if you don't get that it's going to make such a big difference.
Y'know, I have a gram food scale in my kitchen, a little tiny one, and even that one doesn't go past whole grams. I never even thought to ASK for something like that, given that a gram is like... paperclip-weight.
They are doing it on a competetive level WITH THE SCALES OF A SUPERMARKET. The whole game is based on guessing it because the original producer of the show started out as a butcher so he knows how to guess weight. That's why they use those scales.

Yeah, just like there is no Japanese "Is It Chocolate?" game show despite all the titles, it was a single segment of a variety show.

They did repeat the segment but in slightly different formats a couple times beyond that, but yeah. I still thoroughly enjoyed watching them all

themobileappisbroken
They need to be weighed on the same scale.
Nemacol
Or just switch pretzel pieces to confirm you get the same numbers again.

Then they wouldn’t need to cut them in half!

Sebastopol140
Yeah because they didn't calibrate them before.
FlashHardwood
I trust the German scales to 3 digits
Nahnahyeah
I also trust the Germans to have recalibrated all scales before every show.
JustAnotherFurry
We have "Eichamt" a government agency that regulates and checks the calibration and precision of scales. Your trust is well founded

One person cuts, the other person chooses. You cannot have the same person who both cuts and chooses, its a conflict of interest.

Athanar
Then flip a coin. Or the parent can assign one to be the cutter if the other is trying to pick their position for an unfair advantage, such as if the older sibling knows the younger is bad at telling where half is and wants to use that to choose the bigger piece.
threepotatoesinatrenchcoat
Everybody wants to be the chooser. Generally the older sibling cuts; it's their fault for being born first
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
Seems weird to have the scales set to kg instead of g, for such a low weight.
Colopty
It's metric so doesn't matter in the slightest.
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
There is a loss of precision, so yes, it does matter. You only see full grams in Kg mode, not half grams etc.
Colopty
If the scale was sensitive enough for partial gram precision it could just add another decimal or two in accordance to what the scale is rated for. Nothing is lost here.
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
I doubt that.
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
Judging by the downvotes, I guess I am not allowed to doubt that lol!
