I fix commercial aircraft for a living, and this is a viable fix for a lot of issues. Some aircraft, such as the 787, don't get shut down often and once every while (I am probably wrong, but 97 days rings a bell), the plane needs to be completely shut down to clear any memory leaks or other issues that might be building in the computers. It is no different than your home PC.
I was on an Alaska flight from San jose to Seattle when they did exactly that. "Our computers are playing up, we are going to turn everything off and on" and they did. The whole plane went dark....lights came back....."and...were good". I hasten to add that this was before take off. We all looked at each other " well that's not good"

Have you tried switching the airplane off and on again ?

I did in fact... didn't work. I somehow managed to land it with no dash and only got multiple performance mistakes for the effort
