Im not in the best shape, and i want to challenge myself to be better.
I will ride 1km for every up vote I get.
That should help me set a short term goal that hopefully give me better long term ones.

Of course if the number gets too insane I might need to do it in multiple increments.

Wait which bike is it?? I see two diff bikes

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

+1 for the triple triangle in the second pic!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope OP delivers

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Don't die love. Hahaha. I love you! You can do it. Just... Don't die.

I love you too

HAVE FUN CYCLING SEVEN THOUSAND KMS BRO *pushes away on scooter*

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why not challenge yourself by riding your bike without asking for up votes.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well mate, looks like your going on an Iron Man!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At this rate, you'll be biking to Antarctica. Good on you, OP!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

OMG this is so in the Philippines. That wall just gave it all away.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cycling is a great way to lose weight, tires are a bit fat for normal use as it will increase friction, but great for snow/mountain biking.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1.938 upvotes. u ded

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Downvoting to save a life!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just found this an added a mile. How's the progress?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dudes got to do half way around the world so far ha.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Either use it to work or play a mobile GPS game, Turf for myself.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

do your self a massive favor and get a hybrid/commuter bike. thank me latter

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I have a commuter/city bike. Prefer my mtb over it tho

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

With 6k + km to cycle you might want to reconsider the road/commuter bike

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish I had a nice bike.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here, have my downvote. Your heart will thank me later.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We must save him, together.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

207 so far

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did upvote but i can already see you trying to understand how to undo km's.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Walk instead. Bikes, unless recumbent, are tough on knees. Weight-bearing exercise is much more efficient, engages more muscle groups.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

okay. 6k up votes and counting. Damn I'm so dead. But here's the thing. I'll try 6k. It'll take a year 1/?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Maybe but I'll try and do it. I crunched the numbers and best case scenario I can do 220km a week. Worst case scenario 150km. At 600km 2/?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A month it'll take me 10 months to reach 6k km. I'm gonna document the whole thing here of course. OP WILL [EVENTUALLY] DELIVER.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How much do you normaly ride

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

12k a day. Around 50 on weekends

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You got this

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

240 km So far. I'm gonna die. Haha

9 years ago | Likes 183 Dislikes 9

Don't forget to visit when you're in the neighborhood.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I downvote to 414. Just tryna help

9 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

Have fun in south america buddy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

+1 Because uded, but srsly if you keep up with this you're going to change your life.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should see about crowd funding a bicycle trip around the US posting pictures of your stops and weight loss along the way.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Might be worth investing in a light bike, with small tires. Less effort for those... 2200 km.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

10 km to go to work, 10 km to go back, 5 days a week, it takes me 7-8 months to reach that total. The bike will need repairs.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

5000 km later.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can do it, just keep on pedalling.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like your going cross country OP

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good luck with over 4k!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3130 km so far

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dead as fuck

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2.5K now. Hope you'll deliver.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saved you a km.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

6,843km. Congratulations, you now need to bike once around the planet Mars. (The diameter of Mars is 6,792 km.)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

... I'm a dumbass. diameter != circumference.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Make an awesome travel trip out of it and document it. I don't know where you live, but surely there's an awesome place worth a long trip?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's been six hours and you have to bike across the United states so far

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3137km. Good luck!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You will be fine, just be consistent. I try to bike an hour each day. Start with distance goal, maybe 10k and work your way up

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Grab a road bike and get ready for TransAm.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Almost 7k at the time of writing this. Someone's gonna get fit as fuck over this year if @OP delivers.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5.346

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

3,000 km? That's 7% of the equator's length! Already greater than "Greatest north-south distance in the 48 contiguous US states: (2,660 km)"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You can also go "from the Redwood Forest, to the Gulfstream waters" (5140 km)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Famous last words. 6758 km this morning. Might as well make it interesting. That is about the distance from Prince Edward Island to Victoria

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would get different tires if you're on roads but either way congrats that's huge

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4422 now. 6 km short of Virgina Beach to San Diego.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

39 hr DRIVE. Hope you got some vacation time.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like that you used road distance instead of a straight line. But he wouldn't be able to use highways, so it'd be 4,616 km.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1597 km you got a trip around europe in front of you

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

That's barely Finland end to end. Lots of Europe left after that ;)

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

from Helsinki to Paris is 2,625km, and OP now got 3,875points

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Paris to Tarifa is a further 1938 km

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OP didn't define a timetable. I'm a casual rider and I get 7k+ kms a year.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Really? I rode Edmonton, Alberta almost to Vancouver and that was barely 2000 k. Can't imagine a continent being smaller than two provinces.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on how you define Europe- Paris to Berlin is about 1100 km...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh and you can drive from Lisbon to Athens in 1 day 16h

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think you should leave it in the hands of others if you want to better yourself.

9 years ago | Likes 266 Dislikes 8

I agree. Personal responsibility is far too undervalued nowadays.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Honestly who cares were the motivation comes from as long as it works for you. Just don't do it for fake fame. +1 now go get it.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Telling others to do something can help since you then have more of an obligation to try it - if you are that type of person.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Definitely try and use something like Google fit for motivation (tracks activity, let's you set goals, local rankings, etc..)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Outside motivation is fine, but discipline and determination has to come from within.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What a positive way to look at the world, i commend thee good sir for having such faith in us!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm almost incapable of working out on my own. I go to a HIIT gym with a guy that tells me what to do. :D

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree. Personal responsibility is far too undervalued nowadays.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Nothing wrong with a bit of encouragement. Sometimes feeling a little obligated can be the push someone needs initially.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know. But trying to set a goal alone often leaves me unmotivated. This way I can fool myself into thinking "imgur wants me to do it"

9 years ago | Likes 109 Dislikes 12

Resolve will carry you where motivation and hope will not.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Alright sorry my other comment was mean. Take my upvote, but just this once.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would normally call vote-whoring-bullshit on that but I can kinda feel that too about myself. Do it OP. Do it and be proud.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also don't leave it entirely up to motivation: https://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/motivation-youre-doing-it-wrong/

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Imgur wants you to do it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hold yourself accountable by getting some application to track your distance and post updates here to help push you if you need the pressure

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

get mapmyride dude, plenty of people upload tracks to it, pick one and follow it :)

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Imgur wants you to do it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Advice you to find a race that makes you think "holytits i cant finish that" and sign the fuck up. That way you 'have too train'. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just stick to you goal and stay disciplined. Also, having a few pictures of celebrity crushes to look at helps me a lot. Good luck #OP.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was in a terrible state fitness wise, jumped on my bike last summer and never looked back, fitter, confidence up, thinner and my dick is

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

3 inches bigger, so rocking a 3 half incher. JUST DO IT

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I find negative motivation works as well! " I'm a piss of shit if I don't work out today" lol

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

try starting with 25km and go up 5km a week

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I go an average of 70km a week now. But then again £ bike to work. But I need more

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

then try 100km up a hill and an extra 10km a week

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuck this. I hate seeing shit like this on Facebook. "One sit-up for every like" Fuck you. Either you're going to work out or you won't.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

This bullshit won't make a difference

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Who pooped on your pillow?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Facebook

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
