Hi Imgur,
I've been racing to get this ready in time for Halloween and posted yesterday but it got lost in amongst all the fancy dress post. I spent a lot of time getting this just the way I wanted it and I really hope some of you will be so kind as to buy a copy. I can guarantee you'll get some chills out of it.

For those of you who bought my previous book, The Gathering (Let Thy Wisdom Fear), I can't thank you enough for your kind words and hope you enjoy this one as much as you did the last. In the words of Edgar Allan Poe - 'Believe only half of what you see and nothing that you hear'.
I've put a few excerpts below - happy reading :)
And for anyone interested, the cover art is a photo I took of a house in Oradour-sur-Glane in Haute-Vienne, France. The Nazis massacred 642 of the villagers there on 10th June 1944 and it's a humbling and haunting place to visit. All the stories come from my nightmares, of which I have many.
White Rooms
'Józef hung there like an offering, bleeding and terrified and absolutely helpless, confused at the man’s tears as he approached, at the words he had said. How was he supposed to find enjoyment in whatever terror was to come? Lab Coat ducked in and kissed Józef gently on the cheek (Like Judas, Józef thought). The rasp of stubble there felt like grit, the smell of him all stale sweat and peppermint. You need to let me go now, Józef tried to say. People will be coming here in the morning, coming looking for me. Again his mouth felt full of rocks, but some of what he had attempted must've made sense, for Lab Coat replied:
“No one is coming. There will be no morning.”
Józef read the inference plain as day. He really was going to die here. It had already been decided.
“You are so very lucky, Józef,” Lab Coat said as he turned to face the mirror, rolling the wheels back and to the right. “It saddens me deeply that you do not accept this.”
With that he gave one final glance between Józef's legs, nodded as though he was happy with what he saw there, and moved off into the corridor.'
Titch
'Before she had a chance to think she felt a great contraction shudder through her body and gasped aloud as she realised she could feel something moving inside her, a sound like the rush of water through pipes as the tension in her stomach subsided for a moment, an odd folding sensation moving through her torso, as though some unseen force was reorganising her insides. Rubbing a hand across the taut skin of her stomach she felt something pushing back from beneath her skin, saw the vague points where what could only be fingers were trying to push through. The last thing she remembered before she lost consciousness through the exquisite pain was the harsh tearing sound and the surge of liquid fire that seemed to raze every fragment of her being and which sent her easily towards oblivion.'
Control
'I could feel my breath freeze in my chest like a cloak of thick mist and there was a vast all-encompassing whoosh as the air around me turned at once into liquid, thick and clinging and cold as midwinter. I felt my heart stop as though it had turned to granite, felt my blood turn to sludge and halt its march through my veins and arteries, all of this in a moment. As my finger moved away from the button it seemed as though I was an empty vessel being filled again. The whoosh filled my head as I came back, a deep throb like the roar of a jet plane, and I found myself fallen to my knees with no memory of choosing that position. I wondered if I had perhaps passed out momentarily, if the fierce sensations of before were falsehoods thrown up by my strained mind. I was sweating profusely, a cold sheen all over me. My breath juddered out in short sharp gasps, the bacon and coffee churning in my stomach. What in the name of Christ was that? The silence of the room shocked me in the aftermath, as though the furniture and keepsakes gathered around and about were somehow conspirators in whatever had just happened and were trying their utmost not to give anything away. The sense of some great force recently departed, of its sudden absence, was palpable.
I dropped the device to the floor and stared at the tiny swell of blood on the palm of my hand as though some great secret might be revealed there.'

I may like horror but I'm not horrible.
