I do think we need to recognize there are levels of Okie Dokie. And this particular one is mid-season. If my date looks like their photos, it's definitely an episode 1 Dokie
Probably a fesr of spoilers. Had it not been such a good show that my wife wanted to binge it, even if it took a week because it was always after work and she'd fall asleep from exhaustion. I'd probably on be like 4 episodes in
Sorry, you don't binge an 8 episode show over the course of a week, you just watch it. For a week long binge it has to be the Simpsons, or Law and Order, at least ER.
I really wasn't sure she'd like it. She hated when I'd be playing 4 or 76 because she got bored. But she likes watching her shows with me...ok "our" shows. So when she'd be like 'We got anymore Fallout to watch?' and was honestly upset when it ended. You know it was a good series.
This show has no right to be as good as it is, but I'm here for it. The writers absolutely nailed it and the acting was on-point. I'm so hype for season 2.
Thematic spoilers, perhaps, but not direct spoilers. There are also a few liberties with names and concepts from the game, which may make it confusing at first.
No. You will miss a bunch of fun references in the show though. But not references you need to understand the story. (for example, and keeping this as vague as possible to avoid spoilers, in a certain scene there are CEO's of a bunch of companies around a table and if you played the games you recognize the company names on their name tags)
My favourite, think it's the first episode where Lucy opens a window and enters a ruined building, she pushes the window and it cuts to her standing inside like a loading transition.
IDK why you're being downvoted. The violence is very (intentionally) over-the-top, and if you went in blind, I could easily see that being distracting. Tonally I thought it was perfect for what Fallout is, but y'know, that doesn't mean anything.
First time it happened to me I almost had a heart attack, thought I'd broken it completely, didn't know if I should tell my parents or what lmao. We obviously had no sex-ed or anything.
I love that scene in the show. Though I figure there must of been an experimental pheromone released in there because the room they’re in was labeled, “Test Subjects”.
No hate to you, I’ve seen this sentiment a lot, but I cannot stand Maximus. Every scene he’s in is made worse for me. I was really hoping he’d die heroically or something. I really wish I knew what people see in him but when he’s on screen it’s so cringe I have to fast forward or leave the room.
I doubt it, Lucy was pretty upfront about how she and her cousin relieved themselves sexually, and prior to this, she had expressed interest in him. I didn't find her forwardness out of character in the slightest.
It's an unpopular opinion. But I agree a bit. Many moments I was like "ugh, they're trying too hard" but then I thought to myself, "I muscled through cowboy bebop, I can do this one." In the end, it was better than cowboy bebop, and it's the first season. Actors usually find their groove later on, and it felt kind of like it was happening already in the later episodes. Hopefully in S2 they will be a bit more explorative. Maximus is my favorite character/actor and showed a lot range in his acting
People that jump on a thread of people enjoying something to try and tell them that the thing they enjoy is actually shit and has nothing but bad traits are probably miserable.
I challenge you to explore this logic as it makes very little sense. People like different things. Equating not liking something to being miserable is just plain wrong. If you're out eating and your two friends like the food, but you do not, are you a miserable person for saying that you don't like it..?
Every game, and so, also the TV series each tell their independent stories. They share the world it takes place in, and as such there are plenty of references to cater to the gamers. But its absolutely not necessary to know anything prior.
Imo, they absolutely nailed the world building and setting. Brutal and harsh, but does not take itself seriously, so plenty of fun without it getting (too) ridiculous
My wife hadn't touched a Fallout game ever, and maybe only heard a rambling monologue or two about it from me back when I first started playing 76. She loved the series so much she bought Fallout 4, and has been playing it all week.
It is, you require no knowledge of the games to enjoy the show. Ignore the dumbass noot519308. They couldn't have been more wrong short of voting for nazis.
I never played any of the games and my fallout knowledge was that a nuke dropped and some people lived in a bunker. I really enjoyed the show. Specifically, Walton Goggins.
Definitely not. The scripts are dog shit and the storylines are nauseatingly generic. As a hardcore fan it was only worth watching because of the game lore (which they butchered)
Oh gosh look out guys, it's a "hardcore fan" you know he's gonna hit you with the best take in taste you've ever heard. Those guys are always the coolest, and their expressed opinions definitely never make anyone cringe!
It's got pretty decent ratings, general praise, and very positive feedback, as well as being renewed for a second season. Think you might be in the minority on this one.
Everyone can have their opinions ofcourse, its absolutely valid to dislike it. But when you say they butchered the lore, you gotta come up with some examples. Because thats sinply objcetivily not true (would love to be proven wrong tho).
Imo, this is the best game adaption ever, nothing else has hit the mark so perfectly as this series does. Last of us is a close second, but in terms of brining a literal game to tv, Fallout does it best.
So id like to hear whats wrong with it, i cant see it

livinglife9009
That too! It’s like he had the idiot savant perk active at that moment.

You know, that would explain a LOT of his scenes!

AdmiralMoistHands
My gaming career ended with Duck Hunt and Mario Bros on the NES; is the show still worth a watch despite absolutely zero knowledge of the game?
TheDarkNerd
Yes. The Fallout franchise is really more of a setting than anything, and the show stands on its own as an independent narrative.
MadamPuddifoot
This is the happy info I needed, thaaaankyew!
