Humor Fantasy and Sci-Fi Books. Can I get some recommendations too?

Terry Pratchett is my favorite author because his books are nearly all funny/interesting/genre defining. If I was stranded on a desert island with only one author to read, I WOULD CHOOSE A SURVIVAL BOOK obviously, Terry would forgive me for that but if I was forced to only read one author for the rest of my life I would choose Pratchett, he has 41 novels in his Discworld series alone and very few of them are not on my regular rereading list.

Drew Hayes is another author who has a growing list of solid humor sci-fi/fantasy books. I love that his books are so varied in theme and style but always funny, exciting, and well written. If you like super hero books I suggest this one and Corpies, his Super Powered books are good but both of these titles feel like he has grown as an author.

One of Hayes' best books it explores the life of a disgraced hero following his outing for being gay (while married to a woman) and his effort to get back into the hero game after a long absence.

Drew Hayes nailed the title on this one. I was surprised by how invested I was in the silly life of this Vampire Accountant.

This may be the most well known book on my list. Andy Weir is an incredible author who manages to be funny while also having hard science in his books. They feel like they could really happen in the near future. My wife calls this book competency porn.

A. Lee Martinez manages to have a variety of heroes/villains and settings for his books all while keeping them light and fun. The two examples I have are best described as pulp sci-fi with humor.

Scalzi also has humor in many of his books but he is also an outstandingly author of traditional sci-fi, consider Fuzzy Nation as a suggestion too.

A great series which manages to insert a ton of references which readers in this genre will love without ever feeling like they are inserted simply to fill space. I love these books and a 4th one unexpectedly came out last year!

Honestly, this could easily be a book that you read with your bible club, assuming they are cool with Jesus fighting ninjas.

One of the less polished books in this list but a funny light read. Start with this one not with the one listed as first in the series.

If you are a book nerd who has a strong basis in the classics, you will get a lot out of the Eyre Affair. Fforde manages to make the obserd feel not only real but true in this. When you get to the creation of the banana think of me.

This book starts out as a very standard military sci-fi book, an OK one, then suddenly it is a humorous space opera. It was such a switch I had to go back and make sure I read it right.

Funny, more crass than my typical book but great for those who can stand the WTF/LOL so random, humor.

I love this series. Humorous but not what I would call a humor book normally. I wanted to share it nonetheless.

Ok, this isn't sci-fi but I love this series. My wife calls it my "happy place" when times are hard you just want someone deeply funny with a pure heart that makes you feel like maybe humanity isn't all that bad. This book, and the classic British TV series, are about a newly Yorkshire veterinarian in the 20's-40's and they are pure joy. Herriot makes the most gruff grumpy farmer seem like someone you can have a beer with. People say "I laughed, I cried" but don't normally mean they literally laughed and cried, I do, I did, I will again.

Hit me up with other books I should read, I normally do audiobooks whenever I am walking to work, doing dishes or hanging out so I am always on the lookout.
