For the majority of Christians (Catholics), the catechism is what matters, and it changes every few decades to adapt to the new realities of the world (like "Yeah, the earth was created billions of years ago after the big bang" and "Evolution is real and the myth of creation is an allegory")

Omniscience and free will are mutually exclusive. A creator with Omniscience cannot create something that chooses for itself. If that God creates something, it's a choice. He knows every possible choice that person could ever make. If they make one, he made them in a way that he knew they would.
Imagine Omniscience of a single 6 sided die. You know every possible roll. If you roll it, you're choosing a number. It's impossible not to. Now do that with an infinite sided die.

Eh... I get the analogy you're going for, but... Omniscience is a bit more like being the DM and controlling what those dice rolls mean and the outcomes there of.
The DM doesn't control the dice roll, but they still control the narrative. If they choose to be a controlling DM the things happen regardless of the choices made, which makes for a pretty shit game for everyone involved.

I was making this argument in a catholic family as a kid. You should add omnipotent because I think you mean that but didn’t say that. Omniscient is just all knowing. My argument as a kid was “what’s the point of life then? Skip to heaven or hell. God already knows all of the choices I’m going to make. It sounds like he made me in a way that he’s just watching for fun.” “But you have free will” Me: “Do I though? Everything you’re telling me sounds like god decided all of it. I don’t like it.”

I did learn more about morality and being a decent human out of comic books than through religion.
Hell, I learned how the corpo world functioned not through school or raw experience, instead it was a Shadowrun book that I read which did so. It even explained A LOT of the fuckery going on.
So yeah, don't trust religions willy-nilly, questions things and be open to learn things even from obscure sources. Preferably verified sources, especially today.

I think many people can not live with an unanswered question. "I dont know" is very difficult to accept. Their solution is to just fill in the answer with anything. It doesnt have to be the correct answer at all. They are content with ANY answer. I think it's lack of intelligence to accept religion as 'the' answer. Thats also the reason why those people cant change their views once the correct answer has been proven by science.

More like if you actually read the Bible, AND PUT IN THE EFFORT TO TRY TO UNDERSTAND IT, the form of belief system you will craft for yourself will not look anything like Christian nationalism or fundamentalism or modern "churchianity." Even if not, I read it as a full on beliver as a college age teen. By the time I was half way though the new testament "this whole thing is bullshit". Even the feel good parts are better covered by other works of fiction. Still powered on to the end to say I did it.

It's the other way around. You have to ignore large parts of the bible, you have to twist a lot of what is being said in the bible, or else you'd be in jail. What you have is a maths book and on page one it says 1+1=3, then halfway it says 1+1=100, then in the end it says 1+1=2 (sometimes). Meanwhile the maths teacher in church is trying to explain away the insane parts that say 1+1=Q
