I put a pi pico with QMK into one of these. Then we put a macro with a password on it. Now everytime we reset a laptop for a customer, we get it out of the safe and use it to input the password. Do i know the password by heart? Yes. Is it more fun to do it this way? Also yes.

Yeah. Ever since that Monica thing...

Ok I don’t get it, are these all terms in cybersecurity?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yes.

pentesting - penetration testing (trying ways one might break in); vulnerability scanning - testing for known issues from unpatched software; sql injection - accessing a database directly via poorly-written server code; packet sniffing - reading network traffic; denial of service - making a service inaccessible to its intended users, usually by overloading it.

N.3, our little Bobby Tables grew up.

This always reminds me of a shirt I had back around 2000 (RIP thinkgeek) that showed "# grep brains you" and on the second line showed "#". Waiting in line at Best Buy, someone asked me what my shirt meant. I said "it's just a techy geek thing". "But what does it mean?" So I explained it, and they scowled at me. LOL

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But what does it mean?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

not 100% sure but here's what I figure, grep is "Grep, short for “global regular expression print”, is a command used for searching and matching text patterns in files contained in the regular expressions."
So "# grep brains you" is like searching the person reading it for brains, and the second line just # indicates a blank or no return. Essentially saying the reader has no brain

Did you really name your son Robert'); DROP TABLE Students;-- ?

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

100% accurate. I was allowed into a cyber security area once, and they were doing these exact same things. Can confirm

Was there any back door exploiting going on?

Who told you how I got in?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I work in cybersec and that's literally what we do

Having taken years of cyber classes, this is the exact thing we expect in a hard core cyber attack

Log Monitoring

Oh, thought I finally discovered how to soak logs in wood

Stack overflow monitor

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's log, it's log, it's big it's heavy, and if you print it out, it's wood.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice log stash!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is not the Log Lady.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Log out for now.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

patching, debugging security holes, they all make fine further jokes too

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I see logs, but not a single lizard in sight. How are you supposed to monitor those logs without them?

Thank you!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Yeah. Sorry.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Don't be sorry. Be better. Ditch dead trends.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Pov is a descriptor, regardless of current trends, and it was used correctly in this aside from the door opening

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Except for the very first clip of guy walking through door this is supposed to be POV of someone walking into lab seeing nerds doing these things

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

That’s the part that’s wrong!! You can’t film someone and their POV at the same time.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I believe the joke is that the POV is watching the people doing things wrong. So all but the first are correct POV.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The only frame that isn’t pov is the one where the “viewer” walks through the door
