Ideas are easy. It's the execution of ideas that really separates the sheep from the goats...

I relate to this far more than I would like.

I play kitten noises on my phone, when I want the cat to come to me

Me with no talents or ideas:

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For me it's the lack of talent to make many of my ideas possible.

Writer's disease

5 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 1

At the beginning of the pandemic I committed to writing my book. Over a year later aannnnd…I only have 2 paragraphs. :/

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Scariest thing for me is the blank page. Honestly, as soon as it appears, it's like I've walked into another room and forgot why I wentthere

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I’d recommend scribbling randomly on the first page! Destroy the scary blankness

Those ideas look way more incredible in the middle of the night than in the cold light of day the next morning lol.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That, or after eating an edible, versus reading the idea the next day!

They come when you are open to it.. relaxed

5 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

This. Cats don't like to be chased. They'll approach you if you are calm and still

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which is why shower thoughts are a thing

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

... for Fappening?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Whatever it takes you to relax ...

You can also find someone who’s a doer. My business partner is an ideas guy and I get things done for him. We’ve done well for ourselves.

5 years ago | Likes 177 Dislikes 1

I dont trust anyone to be able to execute my ideas as well as I can...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then do them yourself lol

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do, which is why I have zero free time.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

careful, this is usually the part where the doer tries to scrap the thinker, and the thinker kills them

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Fuck. I need to take an ad out for a doer

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I am a doer

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Doer? I hardly know er'

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but it's like tupperware, so many tubs and like one lid.

5 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Or drummers

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doer chooses the tub.

I like to keep a notepad open on my phone when I go to sleep, so I can copy down anything I think of while I'm in bed

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I have an actual notepad on my nightstand. Easier to read my tired handwriting than trying to figure out what I typed on my phone.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And I can also doodle stuff that doesn't write down well.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I use Captio -- basically a single page notepad app with a send button (that only emails yourself). Idea pops in, I type and send.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I will have to try this!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Could it be called something else? I found an app for keeping track of receipts.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks iOS only. “Boomerang: email myself” might be similar, at first glance?

I feel this way as soon as I get in the car… if I could play my bass with the mind I have while driving, it would be amazing

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

always have a notbook by your bed to write down your dreams.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Always do! Can never remember musical notes though. Last dream entry is "parents had fun at the soviet-mongol theme park in Inner Mongolia"

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a musician, I also feel this deep in my being. I very rarely don't get out of bed to let my muse lead me where it will

Inventor here, can confirm :)

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Modder/kinda-dev here. Same

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I dream of symphonies, wake up and play shit.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Keep a keyboard/guitar close by. Record to your voice memos. Amazing how many ideas I would have lost otherwise.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Oh no I definitely do that, but when I'm in that bit between consciousness and sleep, THAT'S when I get ideas and I can't play music then!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

AND WHY IS IT ALWAYS BAROQUE MUSIC?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a writer, oh yeah.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have no idea what to do next,, im really tired. In bed, im suddenly awake again and i have 3 new ideas.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yup, and when you wake up they'll be gone! Do what you can, leave what you can't :)

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can improve that bit though, i remember some of it. There are memory improvement classes and articles online.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your prefrontal cortex is making you stick to rules. Being a bit tired or drunk makes people more "creative". Be bold, risky and confident.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, of course because you lose all inhibitions, right? Hence make more "risky" choices, within music of course

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's how it "feels". Ironically it inhibits the effects of neurotransmitters in the PFC, so it works "less", so you lose your inhibitions.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But both can cause permanent damage, and alcohol can cause addiction. So it's best to train yourself to act "as if" without the stimulant.

Had a dream recently where there was the most wild but amazing jazz music going on, and I don't listen to jazz really and I know I've 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Never heard anything like it so clearly my subconscious made it up. Which is weird bc I'm a really uncreative person when I'm awake at least

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

have u tried drugs? not for the rest of your life just a little while

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's impressive what our minds create subconsciously!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For sure, if only we could all unlock it, without drugs anyway
