FAFO on motorcycles pt. 8329

Lucky he wasn't cut in half.

Insane.

Ouch.

Runaway!

#1 That is not what people meant when they said to "touch grass"

#3 is the 2018 Red Bull Rampage, a freeride mountain bike event, held near Zion NP, Utah. This is Spanish rider Andreu Lacondeguy who took second place.

Unlike traditional downhill racing, Rampage doesn't use a marked course. Instead, riders choose their own start and finish & sculpt their own lines using only hand tools. Riders are judged on their technical ability, line choice, amplitude, and tricks.

(This looked amazing so I did some digging and learned about it just now)

#4 I can't help but think "Kids these days" when I see those, and then I remember my own childhood. I'm amazed I'm still alive.

#1 - Always the fucking lead guy, so that when they inevitably eat shit they will take as many others with them as possible.

i never get tired of watching those idiots beef it

When dipshits go stunting on the public roads and get themselves wrecked, ESPECIALLY when they're wrecked all by themselves or trashing somebody else equally selfish, I feel a distinct tingle of joy. The roads ain't the place for that. I have no sympathy for you whatsoever.

#6 some say he's still chasing it to this very day

I can’t believe that’s the one where nobody got hurt. I assumed it would be the worst.

My most impressive scars are from downhill mountain biking. Ahhh, good times.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, one of these kids is not like the others

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#3 is Redbull Rampage, plenty of annual editions to watch back on YouTube atm!

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For there own safety and wellbeing, most of these people shouldn't ever shenan again.

1 month ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 1

I will never shenan once even. Not on my motorcycle. I like my feet, legs, arms and head.

Just glad face is the softest side of the head. Otherwise he'd had his head split in half.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I shuddered at it.

1 month ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

Wear a fucking helmet when you do potentially dangerous stuff!!!

1 month ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Potentially dangerous = everything on a motorcycle

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Neither was he

1 month ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

I knew the clip so I scrolled on before the inevitable happened

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

But you had so long to prepare!

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

#2 Sure are a lot of people standing on ice next to open water, like they don't understand that's a shitty way to die

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

also WTF was the "success mode" supposed to look like here

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you go fast enough, your bike can skim over water for a short distance, I assume that is what he was trying. But he was going nowhere near fast enough.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Risk vs reward. They deserved what they got in that first video , but I'm pissed at the chick in the truck cheering.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

I'm not sure if she's cheering or trying to get the driver to stop.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think she might have been shouting to try and get the driver to stop.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I rewatched. No. She was excited like it was a NASCAR crash.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I disagree. There's not enough evidence for you to make that call. She was in a very excited/agitated state, but if I was a betting man I'd say it was across between shock, excitement and panic. However, both of us are making wild guesses based on our own filters and not what she was experiencing. Only she could tell us what was in her head.

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

She was pounding on the hatch like she wanted to see more. The back of that truck was filming knowing they are going viral

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

That's you inserting your idea of what she's feeling. A very human thing to do. We all do it. But, it could also very well be that she's doing that to make as much noise as possible to get people's attention to a serious situation that's occurring.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I hope their lawyer uses your words. No.. watch. She was excited, not scared or worried. If you see those two emotions differently, I hope we live in different towns.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Okay, now you're being a butthead. All I'm saying is human beings make judgement calls on videos they see on the internet. That was a person who just witnessed a massive, close up event. How can you not realize you have no way to truly understand what was going through her mind? It's like you want to be angry at her and now apparently want to be angry with me.

Major dump of flinchin'

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#1 didja bring a squeegee to pick up your boyfriend, sweetheart?

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

the gal in the back of the pickup seems strangely elated by it all

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Strangely? Watching that is basically same as wathcing a game of whatever sports, you are just waiting for the goal to happen.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

do you mean like the folks who watch car racing just for the crashes?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sure

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea waaaay to much excited instead of concern. Crazy person in a movie vibes…

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Elsewhere, the short stacks:

1 month ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

That's stupidity with extra steps and higher cost. If you can't reach the ground then stay the fuck out of it, or get a smaller bike.

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 18

Why

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Her bike is cool as hell and you're a sad, sad man.

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

If she killed someone you love, or made a child crippled for life would she still be cool as hell? Besides, in most countries it's against the law.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

If she committed war crimes she would be very uncool, yes. Your sense of rhetoric is dog shit, try again. Lazy ass Judge Dredd wannabe.

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

More than half of riders do a stupid little foot drag with both feet when they're about to stop, depriving them of access to the rear brake and giving them an opportunity to get a foot caught on something, and then they do the same stupid thing when they take off. She's riding better with that contraption than all of those people.

1 month ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Apples and oranges man.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

That’s really cool! I think I’d want one of these too if I rode myself! I’m tall enough to reach the ground, but it’d get tiring if you have to stand too long/often

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I rode a lot of seasons. Lost a few friends and seen others disabled. Finally parked my bike when I had kids. When they’re old enough, I will ride again.

1 month ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 5

Sold mine maybe 15 years ago, the increasing numbers of SUVs and giant consumer trucks makes the road so much more hostile to riders than it used to be. They're giant line of sight blockers so nobody can see you and the headlights mounted way too high combined with the too-bright LED lights makes riding in the rain at night a goddamn nightmare... and if they hit you, you go under the wheels instead of over the hood.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I haven't ridden in a few years. Miss it but dont miss almost gettin run over by other drivers.

1 month ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

My last ride ended with getting rear-ended at a stop light. I wasn't injured (armor and helmet did their job), but the bike was totaled. Haven't bought a replacement yet, not sure if I ever will.

I do miss it though.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The rear-ending that opens this dump looks like it would be enough to permanently cripple a person even regardless of armor and helmet.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yep.

Fun fact: Armor and a helmet are not intended to save your life in a high-speed accident, though it can make a difference,

What they do is save you from significant injury in a low speed accident. You might walk away with just some bruises instead of road rash and a concussion.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I've seen a few people out at the pits teaching their kids how to ride dirt bikes, I always thought that was cool. Food for thought.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Do yourself a favor and sell it.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Fuck no. Sitting on it making “vroom-vroom” noises is one of the dreams that keeps me going.
