I know objectively they will hopefully help, I have been really struggling lately and can't seem to get a good night's sleep anymore, so this is hopefully going to help and might help me with my filter and impulsivity problems, assuming I can also actually get my ADHD meds too but that is hit and miss. And it would be nice to stop picking my skin again, the pock marks and scabs on my legs make me self conscious. I'm just wary of my mood altering drugs, stopping them before l helped me leave my abusive marriage, so that is affecting my hesitation. Drugs in question are Wellbutrin and hydroxyzine. Both new to me. Any advice on them would help, hoping at least the buproprion might help me with quitting vaping. I'm gonna try to get back to sleep, thanks friends <3

The choice of what I did pre eye bugger and post eye bugger is different. The red eye is better, even in the sort term.

Wellbutrin is pretty good and easy going. It might take some adjusting to find the right dosage, but it also takes several weeks to start really having an effect. Hydroxyzine can help, but it's an antihistamine. It makes me feel jittery sometimes, so I switched to another anxiety medication.

Wellbutrin worked wonders for me. CBTherapy for anxiety is a scam IMO. Did nothing, in fact, it made it worse.

I'm sorry CBT didn't work for you, I wouldn't discount it completely though! I had to do 4 months of inpatient CBT with a couple years outpatient CBT, and while not a magical cure-all, it did definitely help me get on a good path.

You’ll feel better I hope, I know it’s hard but try not to stress too much

Once you start antidepressants, you know what comes next? Not you, that's for sure!

Just a little joke about anorgasmia, good luck with treatment.

Wellbutrin is often prescribed to help focus so you might find it helps your ADHD. When I first started, there was a period of two weeks or so where I was angrier than usual. My doctor said to stick it out and now I’ve been on it for like 7 years

Thanks, that's another thing I wanted to explore something that worked on dopamine rather than serotonin for my ADHD. Glad to hear it's worked for you! I'm hoping to have good results :) <3

Question, if you're willing to share: were you prescribed (or taking) any other ADHD medications at the same time as Wellbutrin?

I wasn’t taking anything else

Thanks. My doc and I had discussed Wellbutrin but there was concern about contraindications with other meds, so just curious.

Starting antidepressants is great, but also starting anxiety? If your doctor prescribed that to you I would find a new doctor.

I asked her for the hydroxyzine to help me get to sleep, my friend recommended it so that's the main thing it's for, but I am interested to hear your take on this if you are willing to elaborate.

Oh no no I was making a joke about how you said "starting anxiety" instead of "starting anxiety meds". I'm sure your doctor is great.

Ah, ok haha. I missed that with my groggy brain. Thanks friend <3
