Comic is Nimesh Patel.

I always wondered about the elephants role in the Hindu religion.

OL, you know it's fake because weed chill doesn't work that way.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We have a similar story in Christianity v

9 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Huh. That was interesting

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very good!! 👏

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The weirdest part isn't that he's an Indian guy retelling in Indian myth and an urban parlance but that he sounds like Mitch hedberg while doing it

9 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I would watch so much abridged religious or mythological stuff like this!

9 months ago | Likes 151 Dislikes 0

A while back I thought it would be a cool spinoff to do like Drunk History, but it’s Drunk Mythology.

9 months ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Yeah. I enjoyed the Drunk history too!

Check out the book “Zeus Grants Stupid Wishes: A No Bullshit Guide to World Mythology”

Weed works differently on gods

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Weed works differently on people. Just in the people that I've smoked with, I've seen extreme paranoia, extreme lethargy, literal giggle fits that last for hours (me), straight up chill, and one guy that had focus that put meditation masters to shame.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And it works differently at high altitude

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Does it really? I'd be tempted to try it in the mountains if that were the case.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It would make some sense, but I'd try it with some backup plans :)

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Probably not, then. I don't really like how Marijuana affects me a sea level (ish). Probably won't be much different at high altitudes.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Uh if he can put an elephants head on, why not just put the other head back on?
Why would the elephant have the boys memory?

9 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I dunno man he's a god made from turmeric or something I don't think he needs to follow logic

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because elephants never forget or some shit. I don't know.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Because that wouldn't be special and memorable

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I still don't understand why it's easier to put an elephants head on the boy than his own chopped off head.

9 months ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 1

There's no fun in that, I guess.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

maybe they put his head on the elephant ?

9 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Oh I like this !
That means there isn’t a headless elephant waking up somewhere

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He waited too long to replace the head, and needed a fresh head?

9 months ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

But not a fresh body?

9 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Brain death is pretty irreversible. Other organs take a bit longer before they are too damaged to revive or repair.

9 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

He smashed that head.

9 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

The boys head was put on a monkey (another story) and wasn't available.

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Hanuman? He has Ganesha's head? Is it? Or is it another boy's head?

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wait, what? please tell us what happened to the head.🍿

9 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

...where was the monkey's head?

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Funny. Now do Christianity.

"And then, one Thursday, nearly two thousand years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change, a girl sitting on her own in a small café in Rickmansworth suddenly realized what it was that had been going wrong all this time, and she finally knew how the world could be made a good and happy place. This time it was right, it would work, and no one would have to get nailed to anything."

God creates man and gives him creation, 1 rule: don't gain knowledge of good and evil. Man breaks rule. Man tries to restore things through sacrifices, while at the same time happily going off and making idols. God says enough and says the only substitute for our sin is his own son. Jesus rocks up, upsets everyone who wanted an army, upsets all the religious people, gets sacrificed. Sends holy spirit for guidance. Now anyone can be forgiven, and as a thanks, man continues to persicute each other

David Cross has an amazing bit about the Bible from one of his stand specials. Just youtube his name and the word Bible.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

God sent himself to Earth to get himself killed but got scared and asked himself why he had forsaken himself. The holy spirit, who was also God, stayed out of it.

"Yo, kill your son"
Ay, aight.
"lol jk don't do it"
*knife a nanometer from stabbin a bitch* Come on, bruh, really? Spent all day sharpening this knife and preppin this shit, come ooooooon

9 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Old Testament God is wrathful, smites way too hard, and feels bad? IDK he doesn't like, apologize - he just kinda decides one day that there needs to be a REALLY big change, for reasons that are unclear. So he makes this teenage girl give birth to Himself in a barn, then disappears till he's like thirty. He's kind of a pinko and he's all like "hey, love your neighbor" and "let Me come in you." It's different so everyone hates it and they kill him. But like, he doesn't really die tho (allegedly)

9 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I think jesus was supposed to be the apology... but yeah, christianity is really, far and away, the most boring religion.

8 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also Islam please. They've been flying under the radar. Their stories are cuckoo. there are no gods involved.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

Isn't Allah their god? You know, the same dude the Jews and Christians worship, just with a different nickname?

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

He doesn't make an appearance. That MF is always in the cave talking secrets to this old guy. You know saying things like hey you should marry your adopted son's wife.. make adoption illegal so it won't look weird.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Or things like, hey your underage wife won't sleep with you? Playing with toys all the time? Make toys illegal bro..
Seriously how does that one make sense? Toys resembling anything is not allowed? The fuck!!

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Allah is a prophet. Abridged version: moses-->Jesus--Allah. They just think Allah came and gave the last/best set of directions. Roughly

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bro you got it backwards. Allah is like the top guy. Like the father in Christianity. Prophet is just a guy who is the messenger. Not the son of Allah but some guy who is a terrible person and just made up shit that we are still dealing with. His stories are the exact same as Jewish and Christian stories. He just added 'al' to everything. Note: I hate all religions equally and I'm pissed off that this one religion escapes criticism in the name of victimhood all the time.

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean its all made up nonsense. But Christianity is boring as hell compared to other mythology.

9 months ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 10

Christianity is boring, but pissing off supposed Christians by telling them what their shit actually says can be entertaining

9 months ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 9

There are some funny ones, like the guy who sends a bear to kill a bunch of kids because they made fun of him

9 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yeah but it focuses on, yknow, what's good or not in life and not why are there lightnings or how did a big river or mountain get here

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

How about you read the book your cult is based on first before typing nonsense.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well there is this yoked dude who is a major badass until mommy milkers seduces him, he falls asleep and she cuts his hair off which lets all the people he was fighting cut his head off. Or two girls date raping their father to get knocked up. Or maybe a short king roaming the countryside collecting foreskins. Jesus also kills a bunch of pigs. Idk

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

have you played el shaddai?

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can confirm. I just started working for/getting to know a mixed family of Muslim, Buddhist, and Christians.

They're super cool though, because they can throw religion aside for Turkey.. but not on Tuesday or Thursday. ;)

9 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

Agreed. I think it's a very good possibility Gnosticism is the true version of Christianity, which also happens to be the most fascinating and makes the most sense overall

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The fun stuff is all the heterodoxies that got ejected from Antiquity to the Late Middle Ages from reincarnation to demiurges and divine feminine. Catharism is really funny as it goes from egalitarian if slightly matriarchal to being SO misogynistic it causes a stack overflow error to becoming shockingly feminist for the time.

9 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Christianity just stole the boring parts of the other religions.

9 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 7

What? You mean like Christmas?

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They took lots of symbolism and mythology from other religions, then tweaked it to be less fun.

The Virgin Mary, the resurrection of Christ, lots of other things were taken from other religions.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The only interesting parts of "Christianity" are from the Book of Enoch, and that is apocryphal to everyone but the Ethiopians, but hey, it made for good source material for the main story in "Supernatural".

9 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I had not read this inner jacket review of the Bible yet, thanks…..

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't forget Revelation. That's an acid trip and a half

9 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

The Book of Enoch actually uses Revelations as a framing device for the story, as I recall.

Something akin to "You think the end of the world is bad? Let me tell you about the FIRST 'End of the World', mah boy— someday Darren Aranofsky will turn this into a major motion picture!"

9 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Wacky shit, that Bible 😄

9 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Which one? There's Christianity the rest of the world observes then there's the perverted American version.

9 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

the crazy south Korean Christian cults would like a word... (way worse than American Christianity imo, but there are many bad versions in many countries)

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

while we're here, who wants to explain why there are so many goddamn crosses and religion references in Squid Game? I tried googling it once and every friggin result was just people who apparently have no brains going "duh why did they put crosses on some of the caskets?" because I guess it wasn't enough of a second-screen show for them to follow basic plot points.

Like, I know Christianity is pretty big in South Korea, but they're so prevalent that they have to be a symbolism thing.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are at least 200 different denominations of Christianity in the US. Which one is the perverted American version? Which one is it the rest of the world observes?

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

LOL right? there's also stupid perverted versions in other countries too but that's not popular to comment and won't get upvotes. Have y'all even HEARD of the wild christian cults in Korea???

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I haven't, but knowing the Christofascists like to spread around their religion, it wouldn't be surprising to find equally batshit groups throughout the world. That said, the US definitely doesn't have an exclusive on this crap, though sometimes ours might be more out in the open.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ours is only "out in the open" because Western social media is dominated by US posts. We think it's happening more in the US and worse in the US because it's simply more online/accessible. That's pretty much the only reason why so many US stereotypes and news prevails, especially here on imgur. Imgur acts like the US is the worst country on the planet with the worst leader doing the worst shit, but unfortunately it's very much a global trend. Even niche villages off the radar.
