Don’t forget we were naked while doing this and had the title of the album & it’s lyrics written on our naked bodies. It was de wae.

We were naked most of the time anyway. Only the very rich could afford clothes.
Chickenlicker
All the while holding your breath and not so much as opening an application on the computer in fear of the dreaded buffer underrun.
Matrican
So we have reached a gen. That doesn't know how to burn cd's. Interesting, and scary.
sarahsaurroar
As a 31 year old.........ouch....-coughs dust-

At harvest moon, there be a bonus CD as well

Speakers of boombox 1 (stop laughing) facing mic pickups of boombox 2 (seriously, stop it). Pressing play and play/rec respectively.

Before that people would record songs off of the radio onto their fucking tape players. And before that they'd keep singers hostage at home.
AirplaneNerd
Ahh, simpler times
thequeenishome
Sat. morning I'd have REC/PLAY/PAUSE all pushed down with Casey Kasem's Top 40 on the radio. Little celebratory dance when I'd get my song.
DefaultImgurUsername
I remember doing this. It was so difficult getting the songs that I wanted. I live in aus and singers that I like don't tour without guards
THEREAINTNOWEEPININTHISHOME
I remember figuring I could tap the record down button halfway to mute swear words so my parents wouldn't get mad when I'd listen.
chupathingy99
I did that once but i was standing behind the stereo and forgot the orientation of the knob. Ended up blasting FUCK out of the stereo.
AsheLake
Nice.

They would make copies off records using some kind of glue

The tape thing where you used pencils Or pens to rewind (TDK) and had to have a walkman to play those tapes. I love my childhood

Not to mention the abundant spraying of chicken blood to tame a specific demon called 'Buff erund errun'.

I mean I feel like if you even know the phrase "burn a cd" you know how to do it. First person is trolling.

Sometimes the ritual would go wrong and our fire ends up with a virus or an ad featuring a bad Bill Clinton impression.

Apparently generation "whateveritisrightnow" couldn't use Google if their life depended on it.
PapaNurgleLovesYou
Easy contextualization, a CD is just a digital storage device, a small hard drive.
Axiomatic13
Speaking as an old person, (50 this month.) This is nothing compared to VHS vs BETA. (I still design servers for a living.) Step up Gen-Z?!?
iamthisguy247
We burnt CDs with a CD burner, and that worked by...uh, whatever the post said.
I couldn't find this on Imgur... (hint hint ;)

Even millennials know how to do this

That is why the music industry hates pirating music. They know that people die when we burned the CDs.
You slipped through the cracks apparently.

Funny, your mom said the same about you.

In all reality though fuck a CD how does any sound audio work. Like a record for instance? I'm sorry you scratched a piece of vinyl 1/2
And the machine that reads it with a needle knows how to make voices from it? You recorded yourself in a program that then converted it 2/3
Electrical pulses that then gets converted back to a voice when you hit play? 3/3
ohmegatron
Yeah, you got it!
UncleKarl
I still burn cds! But im old and youtube to mp3 conversion is free. Not paying a dollar for a song.
thefunnestguyatparties
Might i take a moment to encourage you to support and pay the artists you do really enjoy for their work.
Thetingwitdating
Had a mono tape deck with Stop Play & FFD. To rewind the tape, u flipped it, hit FFD, hit Stop, flipped it again, then Play. Portable tho...
McFancyPants
2/X since theirs could only do FF, and she got tired of rewinding it with a pencil... And then she called me stupid when I told her. <3
Craftworks
1/X I remember being 6 years old, and laughing at my 15 year old cousin because she had to rewind her tape in our car's cassette player,
TheRicM
I remember that procedure

Generation Z googles things, this was made by a millennial to get free internet points. Let’s not pretend this is real now.
BananaAddedForScale
Boy you got them all mixed up now.
JHawke
Generation Z is the generation that CAN google anything, but easily the vast majority never seems to realize... or know how.
LuckyLemming
Working with a number of young girls and looking at my nephews and nieces... Gen z does not Google things.
Actually man, if I’m gonna be honest, I agree with you, I just did not like the way the original post was written.

I'm 25 in college.... an 18 year old asked the professor how to flip a coin... what's worse is that three others asked to be shown as well..
Hahaha agreed. Just had a giggle thinking about the girls I work with when I read your comment xD
How do they learn things without Google. Didnt gen z start in 1999? They are up to 19 years old they def google.
Don’t you remember being a teenager? They already know everything.
Maybe they do but not for relevant info. Tbh a lot of people don't. Half the tech stuff I do for work and the family is simply based on 1/2
The fact that I look stuff up on Google and they don't.
