It’s hard to track the movement, sequence, style, and everything in our heads at once, so mnemonics are helpful. Some dancers (including me) have “phrases” for each move, where the syllables match the beat, style, and rhythm.
For example, a Broadway (https://youtu.be/udLcXF_lnGw) is “fah-lap heelheel, slapheel, toeheel” in 4 counts, and I can read it like a poem. To change a dance’s style, I change the rhythm of the poem, and my body changes its rhythm to match.

I disagree, this BTS is probably a rehearsal. She makes a few "mistakes" in this, like 1:20 on the MV doesn't have her hair fling past her shoulders, plus most shots having the fan not there or not moving, the very last part she continues moving in the MV. The part I'm not sure if it's this BTS or not is 1:22-1:24 in the MV.

Think of it like a movie. The writer decides what happens, and the actor puts emotion and character into the words to fit the director’s vision.
The choreographer fills the writer’s role. He picks the moves, but the dancer has to somehow then portray “left high kick” as “sad, yet seductive”. In this video, she’s working the costume and filling in details he doesn’t bother with. They’re both doing their actual jobs very well.
Would you perhaps agree, from a professional stand point, that if the choreographer is in the process of teaching the dancer the steps, and the dancer is still working on blocking and just getting steps in order etc, that the choreographer would _look_ better to a random stranger for the dancers first run through. I would very much be assuming that when they actually start shooting the dancer is very very much going to do it better
Sometimes, maybe? A lot of choreographers are excellent dancers as well… they can easily outdo mere mortals like me.
I once worked with a choreographer whose stage presence was terrible… she acted like an angry gnome with brick feet. Great choreography, though… she could visualize a whole number in her head, and would just move dancers like mannequins to teach the moves. She made mediocre dancers look amazing.
With mastery of both disciplines together, you get beauty… but just one does happen.
