I was taught numbers and math only one way and couldn't understand it but there's lots of different ways to learn arithmetic. Don't gamble but probably & statistics is fun.
... I mean you're kinda self burning here when a toddler is doing much more advanced math for his age and you shoot back with "well that's easy, I could do it" so I was trying to lay out why its impressive and why the clip went viral. It's much less restrictive and much more normaltive; I would be impressed if the kid could do physics cus of his age, not because I think physics in general is hard.
They should get that kid on the show to do a set for Rachel. If they did it on an 8 out of 10 cats version he'd definitely beat all the players and it would be pretty hilarious.
Either the child is good at multiplications, or he is good at seeing a video, remembering the lines, and saying them while his father plays the video again while filming.
Weirdly enough, as a 35 y/o I don't need to memorize what 25 × 28 is. Ive never understood these kinds of shows. Seems like everyone is on board that it's not a comedy show, so are they watching just to go "oh wow look how that person can use simple arithmetic" ?..... Yeah i don't see the appeal.
This is your idea of a good faith question?! You must be insufferable to other people in your life, if you genuinely think that's "good faith".
I need to take several steps in order to figure out what 25 x 28 is. It's not as natural to me as it may be for you. And that's the case for a lot a people. Also, the show isn't just the equations, it's also a word game.
25 is a quarter of a hundred (Or 1/4 * 100). So you can ask what is 28 divided by 4, and multiple by 100. Which is 7 * 100. Finding and using these tricks keeps the mind sharp. Also, not all TV shows are for you.
Because people like to be challenged, they find it fun. So I'm guessing you are not a fan of crosswords, or trivia, or anything that uses your brain. Soooo, I'm guessing MMA fan?
Nascar is pretty interesting, they're stock cars so the constraints mean drivers need to plan moves to maximize positional advantages while making choices about when to burn tire rubber and fuel for a more aggressive maneuver. Most racing is about resource management more than car go fast (though Nascar doesn't have as much of a focus on braking and accelerating on circle tracks vs road tracks). An ironic choice to rebut a misunderstood fascination
I love chess, crosswords, sudoku, and trivia. I also like MMA, but you misunderstand the depth. A good match highlights technical execution and strategic decision making as each attack is designed to expose a weakness and allow an attack. Grappling is like watching chess if you're familiar with the techniques. People enjoy its for the same reason you'd enjoy the numbers show. People also... (cont)
Watch MMA just to watch a fight, for sure. But id argue people also watch the number show to feel smart at understanding through solution without trying to solve the puzzle. Everything has depth
I’d break out by 10s first…. (25x10) + (25 x 18) Then. 250 + (25 x 10) + (25 x 8) then 500 + (25 x 4) + (25 x 4)…. But I might be mental too..l. So there’s that
Still don't see why this is appealing. Is it fun to watch if youre bad at math? If youre good at math? Why does anyone care about how good these panelists are at this. Namsayin?

I couldn't do this if the entire world's population was at risk and I had ten years to work it out.

I took the long route of 4 x 9 = 36 - 10 = 26 + 2 = 28 x 25 = 700 - 5 = 695. I see now there's multiple easier ways...

I'm confused. Which one of them has the carrot?
MrsBeansDad
That's very good! There will be sooo many people on here who didn't have the utter privilege to see the carrot in a box champion.

I got (((2 * 9) + 10) * 25) - 5

Sure but for a kid who's not supposed to know multiplication yet it's pretty damn impressive

Get the kid to replace Rachel can't stand seeing her after finding out about her Israel supporting ways.

Maybe Jon could do it, but some of the other panelists are more on my level...which is truly dreadful. And then Rachel just solves it in seconds

Either way, no children on social media!

It's pretty easy to do in your head if you realize 25 x 28 is the same as 25 x 4 x 7, thus also the same as 100 x 7.
