I'm looking forward to November. Not because I think Democrats will win. But because I know Trump will not accept the results and maybe, just maybe, the American people will finally wake the fuck up and revolt against the tyrant and his fascist administration. But I have zero hope in the American people. To be fair, gerrymandering and all the other scams are the only reason Republicans have any power. But still, a third of the country will vote for them no matter how awful they get.

Some of it is punitive right? As a punishment for wrongdoing. Some of it is for deterrence, a painful public death due to his actions will scare others away from doing it too.
But the last is vindictive retribution. Those who were harmed need a sense that justice is being upheld and that means harm done is returned in kind.
... and I think the nation really needs that for any sort of meaningful healing.

If I had my way, I'd lock him away somewhere in a facility cut off from everyone. I would keep him alive, give him nutritious food that he would otherwise never eat. Any time he would start talking I would just talk over him to someone else as if he's not there. 24/7 I would have TVs in the background playing compilations of people talking about how much they love Obama or Biden, and occasionally something about Trump but it would only be critical.
