Even if you don't agree with him politically or some of the things that happened during his time as president, Obama was the epitome of what a president should be. The way he spoke and presented himself was without compare. I don't drink, but would still want to have a beer with Obama.
And under Trump the US shirked on 2 separate deployments and forced a 3rd in the following administration leading to the return of the same or worse conditions to allies in the region, and led to less stable conditions than when the operations were ceased.
Part of the role of the Executive branch is to use advisor's information to move policy forward, and in this case, stable genius claimed to know better than people that studied the matter in some detail over 20ish years.
