Lol well that was a p/r collab I was not expecting 😂. Good for them for finding something that makes them stand out in an unexpected way.

man, those compressions are impressive

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They missed the part where you should remove the bra in case you are performing CPR on a woman. This is not a joke.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Only if its in the way. They can cause issues with defibs too.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Compressions were too fast.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Heck if that doesn't get your heartrate going, nothing will!

At least make it accurate..

I'm not sure I learned anything but I liked learning it... I think.. what was the question?'

Proper chest compressions are deep enough to make the rescuer nervous about breaking something too.

Honest question, why no horny? Also how old are you?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Just for fun. You don’t have to do what the meme says, don’t worry.
I am 31

Nice video just remember the compressions need to have allot more force..as in you need to break the ribb Cage force

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Why do we need to assault Nick Cage's brother?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He knows what he did

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The rib cage often does break, it isn't a requirement though. It's just that a person with a broken ribcage tends to be more alive than one with a non-working heart.

I would have sworn this was Liv Tyler and Alison Brie, but it is in fact neither. From Cruel Intentions (1999)

I seem to recall that "opening the airway" should involve 2 fingers as deep as you can shove them...

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

Slip gently.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's not the airway you're opening and you need permission first so do the CPR, get the permission, Then....

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Then of course, one in the stink.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In the tiny possibility you're serious, IF you find you can't blow into the mouth, or no air comes out when you start compressions, it's possible the person has something lodged in their throat. So you DON'T jam it down further by shoving your fingers in, but do sweep the back of their mouth to get out anything reachable. Then immediately resume chest compressions, which may help dislodge it or get air around it. Sweep again if you think something has moved from the throat to the mouth.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

"It's OK, I know CPR" *jamjamjamjam*

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, don't do that. Do not put anything in their mouth, including fingers. (That used to be the protocol, but a lot of bitten fingers has changed it) If the airway is blocked then increase the head tilt. If still not getting air in, continue anyway as the chest compressions are likely to clear it like you said.

No breaths required anymore, and the correct rhythm for the compressions is Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive :)

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Or Queen - Another One Bites the Dust. However you’re feeling.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

the bass line?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yes.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Whatever you can keep rhythm with. There’s a list of songs; the 100 beats per minute is the important part. Use a sea shanty if you like lol.

Hmm, that rules out happy hardcore...

Most CPR dummies don't have the boob add on so women are more likely to have CPR done incorrectly and die. I'm off to spread more depressing facts, byeeeeee

2 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 7

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like some of your "facts" aren't actually facts.. CPR on adults is the same across all genders. The only slight difference would be for CPR done on a child.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

...that's literally what they just said. The dummy's don't have massive tits so people don't practice with that.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

As a woman I don't have massive tits either. Also my tits tend to fall to either side leaving the centre part (where compressions are done) pretty clear. It's more an issue with someone who actually has humongous boobs and the nipples are all over the place making landmarking more difficult. Technique is the same.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Reading comprehension not your strong suit, huh? If the dummies had tits like that, people would practice that. Literally no one said the technique is different.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

The dummies do have tits though. Just not DD tits. And for a lot of folk the tits aren't an issue, as stated above, mr reading comprehension. Tits aren't an issue unless they're humongous.

This

if u do it like her u wont be able to reanimate anything

F A L S E

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Well yeah doing full depth chest compressions on those who are still alive is considered a social faux pas

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

CPR isn't about bringing someone back to life like on TV, it's about keeping their brain/heart as viable as possible as long as possible until someone shows up with drugs/an AED or equivalent. If they don't "reanimate" that doesn't mean you're doing it wrong.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I guarantee she will reanimate something in at least a few of us.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No breaths anymore.

2 years ago | Likes 115 Dislikes 6

Certain levels, mostly courses for the public, stopped teaching breaths. The comment section here is exactly why, they found that people couldn’t remember if it was 30:2, 15:12,100:2, etc. or spent time arguing with each other. Either way it caused a paralysis and people didn’t act. Decided to just go with 100beats (compressions) per minute, no breaths. At any type of Health Care Provider level training there are breaths.

Pausing chest compressions to give mouth to mouth was found to cause more harm than good.

2 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

I was about to comment something similar. Properly done breaths *during* chest compressions by a second person is shown to help, but very few people give rescue breaths correctly (too much pressure can damage the lungs) and chest compressions are always preferred to breaths.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Damn they keep changing this shit, next your going to tell me if I am trying to resuscitate someone who drowned I shouldn't blow smoke up their ass! https://allthatsinteresting.com/blowing-smoke-up-your-ass

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, I would edit my comment if they allowed it. I'm apparently out of date!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Video's a decade old and made by a lingerie company.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Well apparently breaths are back in though. It's been probably 10 years since I certified.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

From what I can tell, they were never truly out, but it's still currently recommended for a non-trained person to just to compressions and skip the breaths on adults because it's more important to keep the blood circulating with limited interruption.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah they go back and forth on thr breaths. They recommend doing then if you feel comfortable

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

But they didn't say it can't be optional... right? 😏😉

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Did advanced life support earlier in the year. The biggest factors for success are decent chest compression and early defibrillation (if shockable). Apparently there's enough of an oxygen store (in adults) to make interrupting compressions to ventilate less effective. Tbh your chance of surviving an out-of-hospital arrest is generally very low

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah. Even IN the hospital your odds aren't good.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very true

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My last re-cert told us that breaths were back again, but that was early this year. When did they change it again?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, I would edit my comment if they allowed it. I'm apparently out of date!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Apparently, somehow, we all are? I guess we're at "follow your heart" at this point

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

so was mine and it was out lol. Unless you've got access to airway equipment

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My recert earlier this year was essentially "do breaths if you want, but if you don't know the person or don't feel comfortable with breaths just do compressions".

I, too, share your passion for health policy

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Crazy as it sounds, research has shown 'bystanders' are more reluctant to perform CPR on female, rather than male, patients because of the need to expose the (patient's) chest. Fear or sexual harassment lawsuits: yeah, idiot fucking lawyers again.

2 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Isn't there a Good Samaritan law or something like that where you can't be held liable for complications after saving someone's life?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They aren’t the same in each US state and no, not every country has ‘em. But yes, that’s the idea of them

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"You groped me!" "You were unconscious and I saved your life."

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Remember: The worst CPR is the one you don't give. If somebody's heart stops, it's incredibly difficult to make it worse by doing something wrong. (Maybe if your approach to giving CPR is to start aggressively kicking them in the head or something) It's incredibly easy to unnecessarily allow someone to die because you're not sure what's the exact placement of hands or the exact rhythm (just hum Staying Alive) or whatever.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

My Sister just had a CPR when she reacted on the Anesthetic pre Op. They gave her a good CPR, 2 broken rips. In a Hospital by experts. But you can be much to gentle giving CPR. No other harm she was back after 4 Minutes. And sing: "Staying alive" as it has the correct rythm for CPR and the right motivation.

Or if you're a bit more morbid, "Another One Bites The Dust" is also the correct rhythm.

"High Way to Hell" as well.
