Too much misandry in a few dumps lately

Aug 12, 2025 9:47 AM

If you see this meme and don't think it's misandrist you are probably part of the problem

Oh boo hoo. Stop with the rage bait. If you think men rule the world for the most part and are the cause of the problems well... You're part of the problem. Grow up.

It's almost like the posts come from different users, and not "the company"

Company in this context is not literally "the company" (Imgur), but company as in companions (the users).

Misandry is in the current Zeitgeist.

So it spits acid balls?

Oh, the fragile, fragile male ego. This type of whiny crybaby victimhood is much, much worse than being blamed for the sexist shit you do. Be better. Misandry. What utter fucking nonsense.

Anyone who thinks they are all good is mistaken.

I peeed your comment history to see some of what you’re talking about, and I did see some decent examples of shitting on mem for petty reasons a that are better attributed to certain type of men and not men in general.

Yet, I think your responses which is usually something like “what if the roles were reversed” misses the fact that our global society is patriarchal and men do benefit from it more than women generally do. This is still true today in 2025.

I saw you mention something that tries to contradict this like the fact that most of the world’s homeless are men. I’m not sure that proves anything when the 60% of the global homeless population being men is juxtaposed by the 85% of the world’s billionaires being men, and 90% of the world’s millionaires being men, and 90% of the world’s CEOs being men, etc.

The problem is indeed capitalism, but the patriarchy is intertwined in there.

I appreciate that you call out misandry when you see it, but please recognize that saying “flip the sexes” doesn’t communicate that you understand there isn’t an even “playing field”.

I like imgur because other than up and down votes, we have no say in what is in user sub. It's an honest thing in that way.

This is not a gated community, there will always be assholes. Like how I will eventually get one or two downvotes when I say nazis are bad.

But I know that most of the weirdos on here are anti nazi.

That's also mostly why I post my liittle drawings here, I like when people actively downvotes, it doesn't become the "ego flattering" thing that most social media do, where you can only like stuff.

In shape contrast to user sub, I'm on reddit and that algorithm hits often enough but also feeds me subreddit like lesbian fashion advice.

My opinion of the internet on a given day sits between these extremes.

When I posted on reddit I just got insults and really stupid comments. I deleted almost everything I've put on there, I avoid going on there now.

I assumed that meme was a strawman against feminists... which is a common misogynist tactic.

As much as some people call Imgur an echo chamber, we do have a disappointing number of misogynists AND misandrists.

I havent really seen much of either in recent years.

They don't post a lot, but boy do they comment a lot.

‘Misia’s. Phobia is fear, misia is hate.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Their hate is based on fear. Which is based on not understanding.
They're idiots that simply can't fathom the basic fact that other people think and feel different things to them, so when they see someone who isn't like them, they get confused and scared.
And when they're scared, they respond with hate.
Because they have the collective emotional intelligence of a drunk and belligerent land mine.

Most I have met the hate is based in indoctrination, rarely fear. But fortunately for myself, I haven’t met a lot of them.
