#1 man, you have removed the guilt I was going around with. Thanks! Sometimes, it does get hard to find that one post that brings a smile, a chuckle, a warm feeling and then I sepnd hours , searching :-(

#12 As someone cursed with with a >24hr circadian rhythm, the only way I can ever adjust my sleep schedule is by staying up so late it loops back around into early. Trying to adjust it by going to bed earlier 100% does not work, has never worked, and will never work.

"Not on Sundays" - Scottie Pippen

The Australian Birthday song has a different variation in the UK. "Why was he born so beautiful, why was he born at all? He;s no bloody use to anyone, no bloody use at all"

#1 On a positive note, I have two Roma tomato plants (finally) growing. I don't think they'll yield tomatoes this year, but I now know how to get them growing. I should get some tomatoes by next year
I've also had some success repairing clothes; so I don't have to throw away a pair of shorts due to rips
Also, if you like Texas Toast, you HAVE to get a breadmaker. Make bread like normal, cut thick slices, butter both sides, and bake in oven for ~10 minutes. Tasty & cheaper than store-brought

#11 Seriously, I would love to read the nine month diary of a transgender man experiencing a pregnancy. And by the way, isn't the HRT problematic to the fetus? Was the pregnancy accidental or planned? So many questions.
5amNonsense
HRT usually affects your ability to have kids in the first place (at least for trans women) and I would assume he's not taking his hormones while pregnant. Important to note also that not every trans person is on hormones
tsiyeria
Disclaimer: not trans myself. Heard a podcast where a trans man was planning a pregnancy. Yes, he did have to stop taking hormones, in order to become pregnant in the first place.

#45 when I was in fourth grade, we had about a one-week unit in one of our subjects to teach us how to write a paper check. You write the number out , and then you write it out in words below it, and don't forget the line after it otherwise someone will say and $1,000
Kotarisu
I learned the hard way that some ACH processors will also kick back the check if you accidentally transpose the signature and memo lines.

#11 they can end the curse, we can stop calling it "the Scottish play" and saying "break a leg!" instead of "Good Luck!"

#22 this is my birthday weekend. I spent most of the day in the garage working on glimmers. Wondrous.

#12 Listen, I take pills to help me sleep because I have such bad insomnia, and other pills that help keep me awake. This is my signature move.

#5 I will never forget the tale of the people who demanded that the cafeteria serve meat on Fridays during lent. Not because they wanted to eat meat, but because they needed to have the option to eat meat, because otherwise it wouldn't be a sacrifice, y'see.
SlammedCarsAreRuinedCars
That's kinda brilliant
AVerySillyPuppy
If it means the meat goes to waste because every single person refuses it, then it's kinda the opposite.

If you’ve ever heard the phrase “a glimmer of hope” you’ve heard the word glimmer before.

#36 One of my friends is great at English, but he insists his name is unpronouncible to non-native speakers, so we just call him Druid (based on his first character). ...I have looked up the pronounciation of his name and don't think it is hard, but respect his wishes not to try.

Looking at the Russian word. “Numizmati… like coin collecting?”

The older I get, the harder I find to switch languages on the run. Specially, if I am listening to one language on TV and someone speaks to me in another I might not understand a word.

Zooming in on this picture to see if they have any of my old phone models

No, but I spot a Nokia, so that little bastard will survive the coming collapse of the USA

I saw 3 of mine without zooming...

The bottom Nokia was my first model mobile. Calling was ~€0.50 a minute. We are talking 1997

There's a FREAKING IPHONE IN THERE THOSE BASTARDS

#28 okay so when I was a kid my dad told me Sloth was a real man and he just looked like that and he was famous for it.
I BELIEVED HIM TIL THIS YEAR. I just watched the movie with my own kids and looked it up for myself. I'm 42.

#48 Oh, I'd pay good money to go on a bakery crawl.
ZOMGNO
I'm in. First one, I want one of those danishes with apricot jam and custard that they fold over and dust with powdered sugar...
bitchesgetshitdone
I basically do that every time I go to Solvang.

#47 - this is the "one clove of garlic" that recipes call for.
NeynasGhost
nah, it says it's milder than regular garlic, they gotta breed a stronger flavored version of it before I'll accept it.
AVerySillyPuppy
#1 - Hang on, let me help you out with that cropping...
Shaneg1287
I’m actually entertainment scrolling. Imgur used to be a fun place to do that.
This dump is a nice reminder of what this place used to be
ZOMGNO
I've taken to opening imgur, finding 2 or 3 decent dumps and 2 or 3 other things... then closing before i have to see politics and hate the website again
Stanistani
That's not cropping, that's framing. You're not trolling, you're curating.
MeeseOnABeam
thanks chatgpt
Stanistani
You believe that I'm using ChatGPT? That wallowing, asinine, crapulent crutch for the semiliterate, cloutposting goons that pervade the dystopian, chattering abyss that the Internet has become? Nay.
MeeseOnABeam
it's very chatgpt to reframe thing x (derogatory) as thing y (complimentary)

#2 "Oh happy birthday. Oh happy birthday. You're one step closer to the grave. Think of all the food we'll save. Oh happy birthday."
SageOfDepth
My father in law is something of a viking, and has sung this at medieval recreation meetups. You stomp the floor and grunt after each "happy birthday".
RanOutofWit
#44 funny story, my uncle lived in a neighborhood where teens would drive around with a bat and knock over mailboxes. He was a welder, so remade his box out of 1/4 inch steel, with a steel, concrete filled support and 4 ft foundation. Remarked one night he just heard a loud "WHANG". Mailbox was untouched, but somewhere out there was a kid with very sore hands.

#26 Needs to be paired with this:
Thesaya
That's just the regular pain scale they are talking about, the one that doesn't really work, and doesn't account for chronic pain.
TheobromineAddict
Are you saying that the "Description of Experience" doesn’t apply to chronic pain?
Thesaya
I am saying that when you constantly live in pain, describing it accurately is really difficult. You get used to it, so you rate it much lower than you would if it was new. It is a known issue with the pain chart.

#43 try eating one of those granola bars while wearing a low cut shirt. Thought I had gravel in my bra.
Ticmea
Funny that this was pretty close to the "bilingual mistakes" thing because I read this and having never heard of a "nature valley bar" before I assumed it was some kind of specialized *drinking* bar that serves only alcohol made with weirdly fancy ingredients or something. Needless to say I was quite confused until I figured out it's probably a bar in the sense of cereal bar like 5ish images further down.
eastherbunni
It's a granola bar/cereal bar that is infamous for being incredibly crumbly.

#24 weird to make up a story like that. Texas doesn't have a state income tax, so the only taxes you file there are Federal. Texas can't change the Federal definition of marriage. No one from the state or Federal government would ever need to call about that, but even if they did, no one has the time or cares. If there is a significant error in your paperwork they send you a letter.
AVerySillyPuppy
Could mean filing his federal taxes, but filing differently because of the state's definition? 55% of everything on the internet is fake anyway, including that statistic.
