This is just a reminder that rubber bullets were not designed to be shot directly at a person. The shooter is supposed to shoot the ground, and the bullets bounce up, hitting a person with much less energy. Police are trained in the correct usage. If they shoot directly at you, they can be arrested and civilly sued.
It also shows intent so maybe better to use a robust umbrella. We have one in each car. Just like if you carry a bat in your car, make sure you also carry a baseball mitt and a baseball. One shows you carry it for civil unrest and the other shows you like to hit the ball around or be prepared for rain. Easier to argue in court.

Legal Eagle did a breakdown and no, in most cases you do NOT have the right to resist, even if the officers refuse to identify themselves. (Which is bullshit, but here we are…..) There are some areas in which police are required to wear identification but it’s not a national requirement.
If they say they are law enforcement, you are supposed to take them at their word. If you fight them after they announce they are law enforcement, you knowingly assaulted a law enforcement officer. If you survive, you will go-to prison. They hold all the cards, yet we must fight.

The person you just replied to said a hypothetical jury THEY are a part of would not convict for this. They can absolutely make that claim because they just have to stick to their views and there would be no unanimous decision to convict.

There are some areas in which police are required to wear identification but it’s not a national requirement.

Juries tend to be deliberately rigged in that way. For example, in many states you can't sit on a jury for any cases that may result in a death penalty conviction if you oppose the death penalty. Also you can be rejected from drug crimes juries if you object to certain drugs being criminalized, such as marijuana. One example in Texas had Geoff Ramsey kicked off a jury for being opposed to punishing someone for selling weed, even though the actual drug was never mentioned in the allegations.
