I know the world is filled with badness, sadness, and despair, but when I started working with computers the fastest you could copy data was 0.0625MB/sec. This is 6,480 times faster, so on my original computer, this would take 31 days to complete.
Of course, it would have taken 185,000 floppy disks to store this much information (223GB). That would be over 3300 kilograms of floppy disks. And this drive fits in my pocket.
Anyhow, it's done copying, so it's time to reboot the Matrix. See you all in 1999.

I'm consistently baffled by computers. My rig has 9 terabytes of storage. I remember when 256gb was this truly amazing leap forward.

The year before I started high school they removed the card punch machine from the computer lab, and installed Apple IIe computers at every seat. They also installed a second lab three years later (my last year) with Tandy Model III desktop computers. That's the year I learned Assembly. Good times, good times!
