I’m not sure if he was anything after Gotham.. but I am glad I got to see him act in his later years and I thoroughly enjoyed the character which he portrayed. He really was a great great actor outside of the pee wee Herman persona. And peewee Herman is a staple in my life

Paul Reubens original vision for the character was to represent the Latino beefcake types that were all over the NYC gay scene. CBS nipped that quick.
They gave him full control of the show from the start but stepped in a few times over its 5 seasons
