1. End the Electoral Congress 2. Institute mandatory ranked choice voting: no more electing people by staying home 3. Mandatory impeachment triggers: did X politician violate Y laws, with proof? Then no debate. They're gone and aren't coming back 4. End citizens united.

Technically, we have more than two. The other ones just don't have enough of a following to matter. And the two in charge are fighting things like Ranked Choice Voting that would undercut their power.

The way the votes are counted basically forces a 2 party system though, any votes for a third party are lost.

Yes … if you lose you’re not elected. But if you’re thinking electoral college it only applies to the President - and even then if nobody got a majority we would have a “Contingent election.” Lots of states have ranked choices and primaries and what not for all kinds of offices as well. I don’t think it’s the system’s fault - just the two parties figured out REALLY fast if all they have to do was “not be the other guy” they didn’t have to really do much.
