He's not falling for that trick again.

This is a great way to train a dog to never come to you.

Well, we know who's boss in that house, and it ain't her.
drevan105
Yep, same problem with my own husky. Just waiting for the breed to stand on hind legs and speak our language before taking over the world
Imadethisaccounttopost
Why are huskies such drama queens?
giho970205
I don't understand I have an easy time catching my dog in the house compared to people who posts.

Huskies may be loud, hyper, derpy, and have an attitude about almost everything, they are not stupid however

We have to hide it under a towel, and need to change the color of the towel because she sees the towel and knows what's going to happen

Acclimate your dog to grooming when they’re a puppy, folks, then they won’t have trust issues.

Training your dog to ignore your commands.
disabledwerewolf
To be fair not sure if she really gave the dog any commands. Maybe "come here" is a command, but I doubt it in this case.

In a way, the dog js also playing. But the hair thingy is right there, lady.
GeraltsUnpaidIntern
Need to be careful with Furminators and shedding blades, they can hurt some animals. Also, where are the rewards, lady?!

What was left of His little ambivalent trust for u is gone forever now

Oh, good. Chase the dog with the brush, that will help the whole trust thing. Lololol

Y’all laughing but I don’t see what’s so funny about a mistrustful dog. It implies something bad happens to him on the regular. Bad vibes.
Tauhe
Plus huskies are just overly dramatic.
Sconels
Yeh you can clearly see he doesn't want to get brushed. Don't need to make it seem sinister, literally EVERY dog can be a disobedient shit.

how does that dog not absolutely love a good brushing, every dog i have had lovvved a good brushing, baths on the other hand.
PhooBar
I think my dog is broken or smth. He loves the damned bathtub.
AxolotlInATopHat
The type of brush they've got there can hurt if it's not used properly. I'd guess it's not always been used properly
Could be that it's outside time or something else has his attention and this was all a set up though. Hard to say
BigTittyGothKitty
As a groomer's assistant, that dog is terrified of that brush for a reason. Furminator™ brushes can do alot of damage if you don't know what
Kbantar
I thought my cats just hated being brushed, until I found one they actually like. Pets should be listened to.
you're doing with them. You can very easily give a dog the worst razer burns.
CatBeagler
You're just going to tell us we are torturing our pups without telling us how to not? :(
Sorry was out doing errands; basically just be gentle and examine the skin frequently.
Short, gentle strokes should do the trick, and if the dog is cringing away, youre doing it too hard. Even if theyre not, still check.
My dog acts like brushing him isn't REAL PETS and if there's ANY other motivation besides love, then I need to miss him with that.
Istealfromthefrontpage
Hmmm good to know, any pointers? I have one and I don't want my dog to be like this
Just do a few short strokes at a time and dont press too hard. Check their skin frequently and if it looks irritated, stop and ease up.
Pavloval
Wow, it's like the dog knew you were lying.
Rocketman76
Lol. Made my day.

I fucking lost it when the dog's eyes flicked from her, to the brush, then back to her. Maximum doubt.

Tricking your dog is a great way to instill distrust.
My dog knows what my plans are from the moment I pick up the brush, or the tweezers, or the scissors. I show them to her. She sniffs them. I
never hide them from her. And her fear of small metal instruments is gone now.
TiredOfTheBS
My cat associates the nail clippers with treats afterwards, so whenever I grab them he comes running.

Thats the exact moment I thought to myself how fuckin smart that dog is, it UNDERSTANDS the concept of a lie or a trick. Wild af.
There was a study out a few years ago showing dogs can use deception! https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10071-017-1078-6
I was on the couch where my dog usually sits. Then he gets all frisky with me. Licks me and wants to play. I stand up and he takes my seat.
I'm just standing there staring and thinking what the hell? Did... did he just outsmart me?
Pretty sure a lot of dog owners have anecdotes about it, but it was interesting to see it investigated.
