I go to the store between 6-7am and I look through the clearance meats that need to be sold that day. I then vacuum seal and freeze them until its time to cook them.
My wife says I have a problem, but her complaints disappear when I cook one of them and remind her that its "pretty good for a $10 steak, huh?" Lol
My wife is Mexican. From Sinaloa. Sinaloan women do not mess around. She just thew a chancla from Sinaloa to Arizona because I considered this for a second. She has really good aim, she hit me right in the ear, man!
My wife gave me the go-ahead to start a "meat fund." Since I have over a dozen steaks in the freezer, she said she is okay with me buying primal cuts and portioning them out, because that is the cheapest way to always have decent meat.
She might regret the authorization when the stores near us put prime rib roasts on sale. :)
Trump placed tariffs on whole AND ground beef, and tariffs increase the costs of goods...so...
There is a reason I only buy the clearance once and vacuum seal them.
Pork is still pretty cheap and I get Boston butts for $.97/lbs when they go on sale. $2.87ish when not on sale. Thats why I am going to start a BBQ catering business. People see my pulled pork when its still on the smoker and they think its brisket because of the bark I get on my food.

Here it is after slicing. About 135°-137° so right around the top end of medium rare. Just about perfect for me.

i am a medium man.

My wife was medium/medium well when we met. She eats medium rare now.
I think a well-cooked medium rare with a red wine sauce made from a cabernet sauvignon is just the best thing in the world.
I will allow a medium cuisant, but I cannot go higher. Just order a hamburger at that point. (Incidentaly, my smashburgers are amazing!!

My double smash is delicious, too.

Walmart of all places has been having some banger Prime ribeyes this whole last year. About once a month I seem to get about that same deal.

That seems like a lot of money, and that's a discount? Have I been a vegetarian too long or is that a lot of money?

The cost of a good ribeye the past five years has been above $9/lbs. Finding it for that price today is like a unicorn or something.

We're down to chicken chicken chicken in my house. And an occasional salmon when in season.

My wife loves my steaks so I have been working on improving my other proteins because they are always cheaper haha.
