Paragon all the way, except headbutting that dickhead krogan, kicking the guard off the skyscraper, and wrecking Lieutenant Bastard Kai Leng ("That was for Thane, you son of a bitch."). Oh, and shooting the crate in Miranda's loyalty mission and the valve next to that one smack-talking Krogan to set him on fire.
Don't forget headbutting the Krogan who's talking shit about Grunt, then finally getting to shoot that weasel Udina in 3. And finishing off Kai Leng. "That was for Thane, you son of a bitch."
After decades of playing games this was something new! Played the whole game renegade (as a bald black badass bitch) and it was truly a watershed moment in gaming. A whole game where you can constantly be an asshole AND YOU SAVE THE DAY ANYWAY. If you’ve not played it, do, and just stick with the roughness of the first couple hours - maybe don’t try and 100% the citadel immediately!!
No, never punch her. It's more satisfying to verbally wreck her, plus if you never punched her you can get some bonus war assets out of her in the third game.
I never punched her because as annoying as she was, if I put myself in the shoes of the average human-centric civilian with no idea of what's really going on behind the overlaying politics, I would probably have had the same questions as her. And that last interaction in ME3 made it worth it, as Shepard told her to "keep asking the hard questions". For better or worse, even when she pushed offensive questions, Al-Jilani was a good representation of uncompromising journalistic inquisitiveness.
You get 3 time advancing opportunities. If you immediately do Legion's loyalty mission, AND Tali's loyalty mission, and dont go to any hubs or do anything else, you should be able to save the crew.
Huh, I thought you only had time for legions loyalty. I’ve seen people bring legion to tali’s loyalty but I’ve not done it myself, I guess I’ll try it next playthrough.
What nunbonvalium said. It's a delicate needle to thread. Also, save at least Arrival and maybe Overlord for post-game so you can get ALL of Legion's on-ship dialogue. Though just going to a hub post-game probably advances it too, not sure.
You just gotta make sure to avoid doing anything other than immediately doing the Legion and Tali missions, that includes doing any last minute shopping in any of the hub areas.
The only way to keep him alive is to completely fuck over the krogan. Wrex has to die in me1 so his shitty brother takes over instead, and eve has to die as well. Then you can basically be like hey mordin look around, the krogan are not worth saving. And he goes oh shit you right.
God the ending of this game sucked hard. But the whole game was the ending of the trilogy, and they were all so good, this one is probably my favorite. I was crying like a fucking baby after this.
One of my favorite details of the Suicide Mission is that Mordin is basically indestructible. Now of course, if you choose him to lead teams, people will die. But the writers obviously loved the guy. And who would blame them. But I did a lot of save variations and tested it. He doesn't die in a lot of scenarios and can lead crew members back to the Normandy even if the last defense team fails. Love that game
Was only recently that I found out that Renegade Shep can shoot him at the foot of this tower to sabotage the cure, after unsuccessfully trying to convince him to stop. Watching the vid broke me a little... he drags himself into the elevator and almost all the way to the panel leaving a trail of blood and begging not to die yet
Why would you do that though? The only way to kill Mordin in ME3 is doing a sudden renegade run after doing a paragon run in ME1 and 2. A consistent renegade can easily bring Mordin on board with the sabotage.
This is the way. If you ever want to try a renegade run with maximum yield in terms of assets, the best way to do it is: in ME1, kill Wrex on Virmire (or let Ashley kill him, then let her die on that planet for retribution). In ME2, during Mordin's loyalty mission, destroy Maelon's research. This will ensure that in ME3, Eve can't be saved, leaving Wreav unchecked. You can then convince Mordin that without Eve, Wreav will be out of control, and you can persuade him to go along with the sabotage.
I think I might have done that to you because I do link it a lot. https://youtu.be/qVuMXjpANmw it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in any video game. Full renegade run and I couldn't pull the trigger until the last second. That's not FAIR he was atoning
The video doesn't even do it right to my recollection because there is like three different renegade prompts. You don't kill Mordin unless you hit one of the three and I was on the third when he was literally inside the elevator with the doors closing. Last second "renegade run" and it hurt worse waiting for it

There’s one excellent interaction where you pick renagade and rather than a curt reprisals or even punch in the face SHE JUST SHOOTS THE GUY! awesome.

I respect that. I always felt it would be unworthy of Shepard to hit her just for being annoying. The first human Spectre should have some composure.
