Fun fact: silly string is actually a serious tool in the army. Or at least it was during the invasion of Iraq, where soldiers requested families back home send them boxes of silly string. They would then spray it through doorways of buildings/rooms they were about to search so that if there were any tripwires in the room the string would lightly land on it so they could see where it was without setting off boobytraps.
As I was reading this, I was already starting to expect that these were meant to be given as toys to Iraqi children, who had already shown a tremendous excitement for this novelty they'd never seen before. A kind of magic. And this would ease their fear of the soldiers, who would help them find a little joy in a tense situation. But the tripwire detection trick... that's such an ingenious idea.
Is this a joke or sarcasm? It is literally just foam in a pressurized can. Why you gotta go off the deep end like that? People keep drifting farther and farther apart even over trivial stuff like this and then you wonder why there are so many wars and disputes
