After seeing Redittor Chuckles17's setup, I wanted to do something similar for his and hers workstations. We're both pretty short though (5'5" and 5'1"), so I couldn't get away with the extra height added by legs. Which is a bummer, because I think it looks nicer that way.

I'm an Army Officer, and Hillary runs a fairly successful photography business. I also do some video work. Hillary's workstation does the majority of the photo editing, while I do video and gaming (lots of EVE Online) on my side.

Both systems are overclocked. Hillary's Core i5 6600k is running at 4.5ghz (from 3.5ghz) with a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO. The Core i7 7700k is at 4.8ghz with a Corsair H115i.

For the desk lighting I used the same Phanteks LGB strips that work with the cases, that way they're synced with the cases too - it looks pretty slick. They're magnetic, so I tried running galvanized tab tape along the back edge. Unfortunately the magnets in the LED strips aren't strong enough, so I just ended up running the strip through cable clips.

For charging, I have an Aukey 5 port for 2x USB-C cables (one for my Nexus 6P, one for the wife's Nexus 5x) and 2x Lightning cables (one for my government iPhone 6S, one for her iPad 4). The Sony A6000 and Canon HF20 both charge off regular adapters.

The home network is Korean fiber running into a Asus AC-66 router, with a TPLink 5 port Gigabit switch behind there and another one behind the desk.

The Surface 4 Pro is mostly for my full-time work, but I occasionally use it at home for more in-depth photo/graphic retouching (the stylus is AWESOME). I share mouse/keyboard off the desktop using Synergy. Over WiFi the mouse lags a bit, so I'm now running a USB 3 hub that has Gigabit.

Both PCs run over HDMI to the Sony 65" 4K XBR65X750D. The receiver died a few weeks ago and I haven't bought a new one yet.

I DO wish they were backlit, but I like the form factor, wireless, and they're pretty easy to type on. But we're both pretty good typists.

Can a nerd explain the LED craze to me? I mean, when you're gaming you're looking at the monitor and not the modem. So.... why the lights?

You aren't supposed to game in the dark, it ruins your eyesight. That said, I'm not sure red leds are of any help. Red is the least visible

colour to your eyes and puts even more strain on your eyes. Red bulbs in darkroom make me go crazy.

Just aesthetics. I'm patriotic, hence the red/white/blue of my setup. And the wife's girly, hence purple.

I play a lot of FPS with the g602 and haven't noticed any latency. Use the extension cable they give you though.

Only online gaming I do is EVE Online, and it isn't exactly twitchy. For single player FPSs I haven't run into any problems.
