this is a 4th gen VW jetta/golf 1999-2004 dash if anyone is curious
homerbot
It's a VW and it has warning lights on? What a shocker
darkerface
how can you tell? (I don't doubt you, I'm just curious)
Bob570
Because the font and layout is exactly the same as a MK4 VW.
The 2004 cluster is different than the earlier MK4s. They got the same cluster that was used for the 04-05 GLI and 20 anniversary GTIs.
DynamicLongBranch
On a 5.4 that light generally means It's about to eject the spark plugs.
wyatt8740
Wait, so fords have spark plugs that come untethered from the head in normal driving?
Tentrees
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine~

Apparently Ford's have an oil problem.

Alex0713
You probably have to recalibrate the sensors, it's in the car's menu
SpicyPeanuts27
My Toyota has a sensor on the spare tire too. That was the problem for me
ivythearchive
Mine does the exact same thing!! I have a 2014 Honda CR-V
sykotic1189
Could be a sensor misreading. I've seen it happen a few times. You've got 32psi and it reads 12. Shouldn't be hard to read them and check it
GetOffMyLawnYa
It's the spare.
manicmalki
I got the same shit in my 2015 toyota!

JackieTreehornProductions
Oh BS - you can but new tire pressure sensors easily. They work on RF signals. Go to a tire shop and ask if they can re-synch your sensor
ButtPlugProductTester
2011 Altima did the same. Would need to replace the sensors in the rims. No thanks lol
Jsmythe
Someone replaced your tires with knock off valve stem sensors.
ozjuggler
I like having a pre-2009 era Honda - they didn't have that fancy stuff so it can't break. Just check the tires, sheesh.
Shargan8
I have a 2004 Renault Lagoon, and even though it has a computer, it is void of all shitty sensor gadgets to bother you for life.
HisBabes
2005 Mazda RX8 same problem. Damaged sensor during tire change. Ignore dinging check pressure weekly.
Maaaaaalloooooo
I'm driving at 70 psi then 64, 60, down to 32(what it is in reality) oohhh back up to 70psi. Yeah something might be wrong with my TPMS.
WellThatsOriginal
I can check it at my shop. Although I will admit Honda TPMS is the fucking worst to program.
All car computers made after the mid 90s are awful IMHO
They're not that bad with the right scanner and tech subscription. I paid $6000 for my scanner and $180 a month for Identifix.
Haha, not all of us are made of money. I paid $700 for my car, $50 for Haynes manual, $200 parts to fix the air conditioner & transmission.
No monthly recurring fees, and my engine's so reliable that the only thing I have to do is change the oil in a timely manner & change tires.
AlexZuelke
its a bad/cross threaded valve stem! id bet 3 internet points on it! my 08 civic has the same problem
Heisenturd
Same, except I drive a 2014 Ford Fusion
andyanders1191
Set your tirepressure a little higher than the full load pressure for your car and reset the system.
Goodnewwseveryone
Are there any cars made now that do not have that stupid tire pressure light? That is the dumbest thing ever (personally)
Government solutions baby. They're what keep auto prices high and engines fuel inefficient.
Made now? Maybe not. I drive a '91 Volvo 240 though so I don't have to deal with any of that crap
TheBodyMan
TPMS are run on batteries. They all go bad after 7-10 years. They’re like 75-100 to replace. Waste of money.
Your getting scalped buddy.
samvimesbootstheory
I bought 4 TPMS sensors on Rock Auto for $30/each and my local mechanic installed for $20/tire. Zero issues since.
MySpiritAnimalIsTheUnpopularOpinionPuffin
More like "they go bad the moment you leave the tire shop and they're tired of replacing them for free".
NotquiteThereyet00
2010 mustang. 3 of 4 are out. Not paying the estimate of $600 to fix it. I’ll just check my own tire pressure. I basically do My own work
Syralight

ServantOfTheGodEmperorOfUsersub
The sensors aren’t part of the tire, they’re part of the car.
aerbyt
Try recalibration when your tyres are under the proper pressure. This fixed it for me.
Also, the recalibration option should be available via the settings button on the dash screen.
This helped me. Thanks. I thought it was a setting from the LCD screen at first but the steering wheel had a Menu button on it.
NordicusMaximus
On the Fit, it’s a button low and left of the steering wheel. As long as your tires are within 4 lbs. of each other, hold it to recalibrate.
Mine is a Civic Hybrid but yes it was there on the steering wheel ty.
DBSOempathy
TMPS break so fast. I just stopped paying attention to it. I already know what my pressure is at anyway.
