Some time ago I picked up an acorn, ukno just for shits and giggles, and put it in to soil and to my surprise it sprouted in only like 5 days and now I am going to grow myself a tree. Hopefully someday to maybe use it as our Christmas tree.

Oak trees are so fricking messy. The leaves come off from about November through March so I'd have to clean my gutters every month during the winter. The leaves are almost impermeable too, it's like they don't decompose

They are really nice shade trees though and they grow really fast. Ours was getting bad after about 15 years and had to come down.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but acorns are from oak trees. But hey, I don't know your Christmas traditions where you're from. It will definitely make a nice yule log some day.

I figured I'd be able to grow it till like maybe 4 or 5 feet tall indoors so it would be green tho it's not evergreens. Might serve a Christmas tree for a year or two so it's green

Ok, more bad news - oak trees don't have leaves in the winter. Assuming you are in the Northern hemisphere that is going to be one Charlie Brown looking Christmas tree. But don't let me discourage you. I love to garden and I encourage everyone to try to grow plants.

And yes I am from northern Finland. Do they still drop the leaves even if it's grown inside with solid lighting and warmth?

I don't know. Trees outdoors drop their leaves due to less sunlight and lower temperatures. Give it a try my friend! Maybe it will work. Also, plants need day and night cycles so if you are using artificial light you can't leave it on 24 hours a day. Give it at least 6 hours darkness or however long your summer nights are. I know you have very long days there in the summer. Good luck!

I don't know how much so I water a little bit a time, don't wanna dry it or drown it. But has grown very fast thus far so I much do something right
