ABC asked the question “What would happen if all our stars were high on cocaine and given a terrible song and dance routine to perform?” And it turns out the answer was “Pure fucking magic.”

I recognize WAY too many of these shows. That reminds me, I need to go take my back pain meds.

IDK I thought they did a good job with the dancing which isn't unexpected given that they're all actors.

TomHanks from Busom Buddies?!?

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I knew all of them! It is fucking terrifying.

Was this for a telefundraiser?

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably just a promo for their new season.

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I sure hope it releases soon. :B

I recognize like three celebs....and two of those may just be the chick from 3's company twice

The Peeper!

I am so old. So effing old.

So if I say these phrases, you'll know what the mean instead looking at me like I'm crazy (like the kids today would): Dy-no-mite! Ayyyy (both thumbs up)! You meathead! Movin' on up, to that big ole apartment in the sky! It's the big one, Elizabeth! Higgens, I need to borrow the Ferrari. Bonus: Bicentennial Quarters

Just because it's the 70s doesn't mean everyone is on drugs. Wait...

Bearded Fonz

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, that's Tom Hanks

6 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

Who, the bald black guy?

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Robert Guillaume, from Benson

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn I literally just went googling to see if it was. Should have just scrolled down. Well now that I know, he was on a show called Bosom Buddies in 1980-82.

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That show was fucking wild. Tom paired up with Peter Scolari in a show with a premise that the rent is so damn high that the boys try to get cheaper living by cross-dressing and moving into their girlfriends female-only apartments. Hilarity ensued.

Barney Miller would not approve of the way Hal Linden was dancing

6 months ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 2

Absolutely not!

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hal Linden was well known on Broadway before Barney Miller

6 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That doesn't change the fact that Captain Miller would be none too pleased with Hal's shenanigans

I don't think Detective Fish could be amused either

Guys guys let's not fight

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Be quiet! All this talking is interrupting me trying to grow my hair and beard to look like Fonzie's

6 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

My little brain could not accept non-canonical hair at that time. I wanted it erased from reality, I wanted fonzy to fucking well look like fonzy so that at least one goddam thing in life was stable.

It was not necessary to give them cocaine. They provided their own cocaine.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even the kid?

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Who you think slingin that shit

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What year is this from?

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1980. The previous few years, their song was "Still the One", but they wanted a new song for a new decade (and I don't know if they were still #1 at that time - they might've been overtaken by CBS at that point).

Was the cocain guy from Die hard hiding?

I remember this commercial. Yes I'm on back meds.

Oh, I love those kids. They've got such a great attitude!

Was even the little girl at ~10 sec in on cocaine?

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I love this but most of them look like they are thinking "I should have read that fucking contract."

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I’ve never seen more miserable stars all in one location at the same time!

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I recognized most, but who is the brunette, first woman shown in the clip?

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can you imagine the work required for coordinating the the rehearsals, costuming, filming, etc. of this for that many stars, each with their own schedules for work. I've seen entire movies that were less difficult to get made.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

All of those shows were shot on studio lots, so it was probably just "everyone, head over to stage 3". Someone had already mapped out the big entry number, then they filmed shorts and close-ups for everything Else.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They weren't as busy back then though. These days, there's junkets and media, and podcasts, and talk shows non-stop. They don't get much of a break.

It's why this and stuff like Circus of the Stars wouldn't happen today. Well, and lawsuits, but small details.

Not saying they didn't work for their pay back then, just that with the media explosion we live in today, their schedule is more manic crazy than it was back then.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's probably why it's all tight shots, they're not all there at the same time.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Name all the shows: The Love Boat, Benson (or is it Soap?), Threes Company, Lavern and Shirley, Happy Days, Barney Miller, Bosom Buddies, ... what was Ted Knight in at that time?
I've missed a few but that is off the top of my head.

6 months ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

This must be S4 Soap era: I recognized Benson’s replacement and several other Soap actors.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Too Close for Comfort motherfucker

6 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

That's why Ted is there. I completely forgot about that show. Had to look to remember the hand puppet was Cosmic Cow.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

tom poston and robert donner from mork and mindy.

6 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I thought Mork and Mindy should have been in there. Sadly I just remember them, Johnathan, and the guy who played her dad.

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I couldn't make it out but that was either George Burns or Burgess Meredith as the white haired man dancing with them.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It was Burgess

6 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Also…It’s a living & The Hudson Brothers

Yup, had them in there.

And those shimmering shakeballs!

It would have been Benson, the little girl Missy Gold was on it with Robert Guillaume.
