If I remember correctly the little lady is heard encouraging herself as she goes down the aisle.

What is sweet is that a kid gets to participate in a wedding. I'm sooo fucking sick and tired of all of this disability inspiration porn some of y'all peddle on this site. It's gross, it's ableist.

She's just a person existing, using accommodations that help her. Folks don't want your pity, they don't want to be your inspiration, they don't want you to compare yourself to them so that you feel better about your life.

Remember everyone can upvote this moment and still if they wish return to there life, good or bad, but know they/we share this moment of goodness. Who knows it might be the flap of a butterfly wing that changes the world??

I’m careful coming down here when I see things like this. Usually top comm is “So sad that she only lived 6 more months…” or somesuch. And no, I will not be reading any comments. I SAID GOOD DAY!!

Kids suffering from illnesses like this is what makes me question the existence of a higher being / power. Seeing her joy makes me happy for her despite her struggles. One tough kid!

As someone once put it: If God exists, he's either not benevolent, not omniscient or not omnipotent.

… okay? Good for her she has an appropriate mobility aid and access to therapies to make use of her body's ability to walk, but it's not 'despite' having CP. She's walking down the aisle (and cute, sure).

I'm glad for her she got to do something she clearly wanted to, judging by the smile on her face, but if she hadn't been able to it wouldn't have been any kind of failure (unless she were denied access to mobility aids and any therapy, in which case that would be a failure of society).

Ladies and gentlemen: if you ever wanted to see an example of a psychopath's inability to understand human emotions, here you are.

I should clarify if the post were her celebrating it, or her parents, great, no problem. But this weird impersonal phrasing of the text and using her for internet clout just because she's visibly disabled is definitely designed to be inspiration p*rn.

Posts meant to me me feel good just make me feel guilty that I ever bother to complain about anything in my privileged ass life.

1 year ago | Likes 192 Dislikes 5

No no, disabled folks don't want to be that for you. That you shouldn't complain because you, what, pity her? She doesn't want your pity. She's doing the best she can with the things she has, just like you are.

It's just a moving picture, objectively. Without knowing the people involved, without context beyond a headline, it's basically a presented package of emotions, no different than from a commercial for chewing gum. Maybe OP is a secret content farmer who's trying to get us to go to their dropshipping link, I have no idea and neither do you.

But they're effective. I'm saving this one to show to someone later, because it made this dumb ape smile for 10 seconds. If it's bothering you, start there.

Fuck that. Enjoy her moment. She had to fight to get down the aisle. Appreciate that she put in MAXIMUM EFFORT and just smile. Later... later you contextualize(is that a word?)

Enjoy the joy. First. You can appreciate your (lesser?) Obstacles later. Also your Obstacles are real. We can't really go through life being like "well I don't have it that bad". Your shit's real too :)

Life is not a competition, contrary to how people act. You can be privileged and still have problems.

I got frustrated with a friend because he kept complaining about trivial things and talked about all the stress he had at home. I have two kids and haven't slept well in 4 years, and my good friend's 4 year old just had brain surgery but this friend lives with his brother and mom and lives off disability and never leaves the house. So I'm like, what stress could he possibly have!? He told me his mom is slowly losing her mind. That kind of shut me up.

Inspiration p*rn tends to have that effect. It's no good for anyone.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

It's not a competition. You're allowed to complain about things in your life. Just remember to appreciate the good parts when they come too.

She looks like she's having fun, don't worry.

We all have things we can complain about, and be grateful for...balance💜

I have ms, unbelievable pain and wheelchair bound. This does not make your life perfect, you have struggles and pain if your own, complain away my friend

If we follow that logic to its extreme end only one human is allowed to feel bad about their situation at any given time.
Feelings are signals our bodies use to tell us something, and they're always valid. There's no threshold below which feeling bad about your situation is wrong.

One person's suffering does not invalidate another. "One should have sympathy with all of life, not with lives sores and maladies merely. The wider sympathy is of course the more difficult" - Oscar Wilde

Other people having it worse than you doesn't mean you can't want to improve your own situation. Maybe just try to lift others up with you along the way.
