Venus' Co-Orbital Asteroids Potential Threat

This is an animation of the over 37,000 known Near-Earth objects NEOs in the inner solar system. A NEO larger than 140 meters (460 ft) with an orbit that crosses the Earth's orbit is considered a potentially hazardous object. Venus' co-Orbital asteroids are a group of potentially dangerous asteroids that are difficult to observe from Earth.
2013 ND15, a small asteroid with a size of 40 to 100 meters, is one of 20 known Venus trojans. The animation shows its tadpole orbit around Venus's Lagrange point L4 in magenta. The asteroid is 60 degrees ahead of Venus. The orbits of these objects are very chaotic and can only be predicted for 150 years.
Apophis (full name 99942 Apophis) is a 450-meter near-Earth asteroid that will approach Earth in 2029 and 2036. Recent observations rule out an impact on Earth in the near future.

Great videos, thank you! Have you tried putting a high-pass filter (at somewhere between 100 and 150 Hz) on your voice recording? This would make it a lot more intelligible.
Oktay74tn
I used a filter but the sound was too low.

The slight resemblance to the voice of Werner Herzog has me always expecting the 'data only' nature of the content to veer wildly off into a description of the fathomless and unutterable horror of the immensity of the universe.
Oktay74tn
This is so funny. I used to work for a person with the last name Herzog but his first name was not Werner. :)

"Recent observations rule out an impact on Earth in the near future" GOD DAMN IT
BoobJiggle
That is a really freaking bizarre orbital path for the Venusian Lagrange asteroids.
And thank you for including the update on apophus, I knew it was coming back around in 2029, I wasn't sure what it's chance of impact was anymore. Last I heard it was like 1 in 450
OmnibusLatinName
So you're sayin' there's a chance.
Tortoiseshell11
I’m sad about it because its closest approach is going to be on the other side of the earth from me, so I can’t see it.
BoobJiggle
Well I mean it's 4 years off still, so you could always plan and save for a short trip?
Oktay74tn
You are welcome.

Can we dispense with the nonstandard measurements? How many bananas is that?

330 feet, Quentin would be very happy

I'm glad that Apophis will miss Earth :) .

I'm not.

Easy there, Dwight.
