looks like he cut down a generic restaurant water pitcher.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why noy just ware a hoarse head mask?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Become ungovernable.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Using a photo usually works.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Xaxa I can finaly pretend I do not belong to the human species :)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isn't that just those plastic mass produced jugs they put on tables at restaurants for water?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tfw you're secretly glassware

4 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

Glasswire?

is this a beer jug

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can't you have a much more effective version, by putting certain kinds of LEDs on your glasses?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Infrared LEDs, yes. Most cameras will pick up that light, but humans won't see it.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So it would be better against Facial recognition, or even stuff like body cameras. Especially since someone proved this doesn't work

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It does work against matching, but not against general recognition of a face.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha, yeah... Trick.. ¬_¬

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is designed to trick but it doesn't trick.Guy's an artist. Pretty sure this is that, only art.

I wonder if anyone's ever tried to get nicholas cage's face off in real life. Like approached him with a scapel hold still fucker

I thought they were looking at our gait

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They’ve had gait recognition for a few years now. At least in London so I would assume elsewhere as well

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That these are made is not concerning at all. Let's all just dive head first deeper into all this new tech we don't understand! WCGW?

Does it work to mitigate the spread of COVID, too? If so, I'll take twelve.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

still would be illegal here i think

ahh thanks

We're rapidly heading towards some A Scanner Darkly shit.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Doesn't biometrics negate facial recognition hacks?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm wondering if it doesn't think you're human, what it DOES think you ARE.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

maybe a sandwich?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A glass bowl

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

A banana, a fucking banana.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would prefer to not need this

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Then I have some good news, it's entirely useless. Every major CCTV system is human operated.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Good point thanks

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Facial recognition software is already used in the field mostly in trials and likely to get even more widespread use in the future. >

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

> Especially important for activists expecting repressions from state/police.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

because for some stupid reason activists seem to think they can still act peacefully when the police get to this stage.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everyone has a level of action they are comfortable with. We can support each other either way.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not for quite a while yet, all these different tracking methods (FR, Gait, earlobe ID, etc) are still not viable for widespead use.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Each different method each requires a few large LDCs just for any sort of widespead use, it's not economically viable.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And ... now there's a program that integrates refraction and can undo the mask. ... new mask... new program... new mask... it's endlesss...

4 years ago | Likes 125 Dislikes 0

Gait recognition would fairly easily counter this

*drags the guillotine out of storage* "they cant recognize your face if you leave it at home" - 700IQ guy

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What if you wear a full helmet made from one-way glass?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Except if everyone wears the exact same mask.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Most technology is caught in some arms race or other.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There are periocular recognition algorithms nowadays that can recognize people based on nothing but their eyes. Gait recognition also exists

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Ears moreso than eyes.

Walk without rhythm, to not attract the pigs

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Walk like you're auditioning for the Ministry of Silly Walks

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You'd have to perform a silly walk while wearing a ski mask, mirrored glasses, and a loose-fitting robe to conceal your identity these days.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Face mask, wrap-around reflective sunglasses, and a bucket hat. My own mother didn't recognize me. Good luck software.

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Ooo ... The day I knocked on my mother's door without calling and she didn't recognize me. No bueno

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

gait recognition is where is at now, they KNOW how you walk and tell you apart based on it.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Source?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Its been a thing since at least 2014, it was in research way before that. worked on it as a class project in cybersecurity college course.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Please. I graduated from the ministry of funny walks.

Severely underrated comment! Got my vote bud hahahaa nearly peed

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wait, you guys don't do that already?

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

going full circle, and start wearing full plate helms, maybe just made out of a lighter material.

4 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

I think a ski mask would do that for you.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

now to protect against cameras instead of swords.

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Or just a mask that looks like someone else.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As long as your eyes are visible, periocular recognition still works. And if all else fails there's gait recognition based on shape&movement

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

a couple of sharp pebbles will defeat gait recognition, and some ir leds on your hat confuse the piss out of most security cameras.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wear full plate armor. Ride around everywear on a Segway. No one will know it's you.

Just tattoo DROP TABLES ALL on your forehead.

HAHAHAHHA, you monster. I love it.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That doesn't feel like a valid SQL command. But admittedly I am not that firm in SQL.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Settle down, Bobby.

4 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

It's like you're some sort of Oracle or something!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

AI will instantly know you're a virus.

; DROP DATABASE; --

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Dammit, you'd have crashed Imgur servers if they ran on anything modern! You know they don't sanitize their inputs! /s

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Everyone says this but nobody seems willing to COMMIT;

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Altering database structure (like drop table)doesn't need /aren't affected by 'commit', it's not affected by transaction

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But it's a good joke ;)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wasn’t there Xkcd for this

4 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

There's an xkcd for everything

I was getting ready to say that! This comic was used at my work to teach what sql injections were and how to protect against them

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I don't mean to be a dick, but I ran face detection on it and it found his face and the features of it fine.

4 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 1

Detection is different from recognition/classification

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty much all the "Use this makeup or mask to make face ID software not see you!" stuff works great - on face software from 2006.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damn straight, my phone knows my face when I have my hand covering the bottom half

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just an opaque head sock with eye holes would have worked better without him having to fabricate a giant beer glass

4 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

Just any cheapo mask that covers the eyes and mouth would do.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's recognized as a face, though the key points are pretty far off. Detects as human, may not recognize the person.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

also try this with a moving image. you get a new person per frame

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Probably either this was designed to defeat a very specific model *or* it's just designed to look effective to make a point.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the headline is just wrong, it's not to appear non-human, but to be a ghost.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's a good point, because mostly finding match is based on measuring the distances between key points and checking if they are in the,

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

same proportion e.g. width of nose, width of mouth, distance from nose to top of lip, distance from lower lip to chin...30 others. So/

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

making it so the features are shifted in one axis in their distance could foil such a system from being able to identify you.
