Remember - Mexican independence was such a never ending f-tier clusterfuck, it makes the American Revolution look like a well regulated, cordial tennis match.

And it was the last movie Steve Martin or Martin Short ever did with Chevy Chase

Actually not that far from the truth. Cinco de Mayo is the celebration of the town of Puebla able to temporarily fight off the French on May 5th. The French were able to come back and defeat them, but the news of the defeat reached California. Where the progressives heard about it and decided to attack the pro-slavery Californians. Since the French at the time represented the pro-slavery, while the Mexicans didn't.

I know they made the discord to continue it but that is just one more thing I'd have to monitor. I don't have the energy for that.

I thought it was because the Titanic went down with all of that Hellman's on board.

Was it mayo? Or was it the dread 'salad dressing' which has never topped a salad, ever.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Of course it was mayo. That's why it's called "sinko de mayo", but people keep mispronouncing it. :D

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's because you're thinking of a leafy green salad, instead of a ham or some such salad.

I thought it had something to do with the Titanic

I have trouble watching anything with Chevy Chase in it nowadays, knowing what an abusive asshole he is...

If my headcanon is anything worth it's salt, I can imagine the Martins constantly ripping on him.

Hasn't this been well known for decades now? I've literally never heard anyone say anything nice about Chevy Chase.

Beverly D'Angelo. Pretty much the only one. They've been very close friends since "Vacation"

Not Me ican Independence. That is in September. Today is when the Mexican Army defeated the French. Napoleon III tried to take over Mexico and they handed him his ass

As Napoleons go, he wasn’t the best of them when it came to warring.
