Image driving your white delivery truck on your normal route, then a drone drops out of the sky to blow up the truck less than 50 meters in front of you...just before an overpass...all while driving at highway speed. Wow!
When the camera is attached to the big badda boom you generally don't get to see the big badda boom because the camera goes boom. There are a LOT of these videos online, shit can be fucking gnarly. I've seen so many videos of Russian soldiers just giving up and turning to look away before they get blown to shit. Its insane.
The drone tagged the truck, and now they're frolicking happily on a farm a little out of the city. Now instead of war, the truck and drone get to play with lots of old dogs, and ponds full of goldfish!
They sometimes have AA guns on flatbeds driving along, but those tend to get targeted first. There's plenty of those being blown up as well. In the end, it's a numbers game: There's a limited number of air defenses, but a much larger number of trucks. Does it make military and economic sense to use these limited assets to defend trucks (with a very low success rate, since both the platform and the drone are moving at high speeds) or are they better used to e.g. defend more valuable assets?
Is 8kg the weight of just the explosive material, or the weight of the whole warhead? Because 8kg seems like a LOT of explosive material to use on a single unarmored truck. But then again, Ukrainians seem to be the experts at this, so I trust their judgement.
Likely a target of opportunity. I have to assume that when they send waves of drones to a target, much like waves of bombers during WW2, that some have to drop out with mechanical problems; or the tip of the wave (scouts) gets intercepted so the main body disperses to other targets.
normally it's the weight of the whole thing including casing, shrapnel, fuze... everything that the aircraft needs to carry that's not itself, because it's what counts towards its capacity and range
Nah you're thinking right. This was opportunistic, but wasteful. These midsized ones are much better for infra disruption. Basically true for any of the gas-powered ones you hear about
They have been running additional long range drones to catch the destruction on camera. Then plunge the camera drone after some loitering. Get the pr. Deliver 2x the fuck you.
You're not wrong. Public opinion and good PR are a huge factor in war. People and nations are more likely to lend support if they can see the results. Likewise, it helps undermine Russian morale, what is left of it.
Old? Hashtags are a newfangled Millennial thing. Back in my day, we used stuff like ObBlah, rec.games.blah, #include, and then in later years, ... and blah.tld. Nowadays, they use weird stuff like r/blah, or whatever it is they use on the TickTocks nowadays.
While I celebrate ukraine fighting back and doing well and russia getting what it deserves, I still hate watching people dying like the drivers and it shouldn't be a joking laughing matter. Remember there are still people in it. It should be treated like the tragedy it is. And again, I am **FIRMLY** on Ukraine's side. I just hate seeing anybody die and don't think it should be celebrated.
That's nice for you. We're told to respect the humanity of murders, because their choices are limited by life circumstance, but this totally demeans the lives of people who would die rather than hurt someone else. I can watch orcs die any day and I hope they know it's getting filmed and enjoyed globally. Maybe they can try being real people and go the fuck home.
Because that is how the military works. Soldiers can definitely just decide they want to awol and go home whenever they want. **ESPECIALLY** in Russia.

time to bomb some civillians again - Putin for sure.

That truck driver shoulda learned some maneuvers. Maybe try listing lazily to the left?

Aw, that's an RC airplane engine. Sigh.

This type of warfare is illegal. The drone clearly exceeded the speed limit for that highway.

This requires the logistics truck to move to a farm upstate.

Do they really send their logistics down a public highway by themselves with no sort of defensive support? HA!

yeah, posting war footage of any kind to celebrate it, when death is involved, feels gross. I'm glad this worked, I don't need to see it.

Yes, they can. They're responsible for their own actions, and actions have consequences.

No but they can decide they would rather die fighting the corrupt government and not the forcefully invaded people.
