So why all the puppies, BrianTheImpaler?

Well, you see, I know this dog that I love and adore. He was allowed to stud and make one litter of puppies with an adorable, lovey Mom.
(I will say this once, I'm not a fan of the fact that they bred rather than taking dogs out of shelters but that's not my decision to make nor is it yours to judge, criticize, or advise about.) Ok there's my dickish "I don't want you hear it" aside.

Mom ended up having 12 (twelve) puppies. Twelve. 12. Holy shit snacks, I hear you saying. I agree. Nobody expected 12 pups. Mom did an absolutely amazing job with all of them. She was behaviorally appropriate and managed to nurse all 12 babies with nobody left out or undernourished. I'm very impressed and she gets all the love.

I brought Grace and "Sweetie" home at just over 5 weeks. I know it's young and not advised. (please refer back to my dickish statement above)
I also know that Mom and her human family were overwhelmed and in over their heads. All the puppies were already established on (what I consider shitty) kibble and becoming more separated from Mom. So the girls came come with me. I have them now on a high quality puppy food based on my research, independent, reviews, and veterinary recommendations. The food is being softened with a first stage milk replacement with active cultures.

So why is "Sweetie" being treated differently? Well, Grace and I will be living together permanently along with my cats Mulder and Scully. We're a family now. "Sweetie" is with us only temporarily until she goes home to her new dad and permanent home at the end of the month. Dad has not determined the perfect name yet and wants to see her personality first. So I'm kinda rotating through names to try and keep from imprinting one too much.
The advantage with doing it with this staged approach is that both get to continue with a smaller pack for this critical development stage before stepping down to individuality.
I know both of them have a somewhat less desirable start to life by leaving Mom and siblings early so I'm trying to give them as many advantages as I can to maximize their chances of having the best lives possible.
