It's free publicity. He isn't going to pay but you are all boosting awareness for free. People will show up just because of the rumor.
Nanntuckett
It’s amazing how the rules really don’t apply when you have enough money. He’s bought our government and will likely never see the inside of a jail cell like he deserves.
Badmusick
I will feel better after this man has been killed. Not much better, but better
BryanTenn
Billionaires would rather buy votes than pay taxes.
DriverIRQnotlessOrEqual
Throwing him into prison is only the first step
Kenbamazingbutprobablywontbe
Good hope he looks like a huge ass when he gets blocked. And there is backlash
lildude52ca
Legal action to stop him from doing it is not the same as punishing him for doing it.
cantbelievethisisstillavailable
He already did this in PA and was stopped. There should be consequences this time, but ain't nothin' gonna happen.
NKato
No, he wasn't. Only temporarily.
TheCriticsWereConciseItOnlyTookFourLines
Handing out money is nothing compared to the evil of handing out water bottles
JackalopeElope
Professional lobbying get something like 50,000% return on investment. If we allow bribing the electorate too, the US is just fucked.
bourbonandbaddecisions
Indict him.
dynamojoe
I'd like it if it's a state law that he violated and he gets arrested by state police. As a billionaire with citizenship in several other countries, he should be considered the biggest flight risk in state history and held without bail until trial. He has a right to speedy trial; the trick is to get him to waive it.
blahblahbushes
And Drumpf won't be able to pardon him for state crimes.
dynamojoe
Exactly. However, Trump won't let his benefactor stew in some democratic state's jail. He'll have to do something and that something will likely violate the constitution. Either it's obvious cover for the GOP to rid themselves of Trump, or the revolution starts in earnest. It won't happen. Elon won't get arrested. but it's nice to dream.
notblubber
It's ILLEGAL. Arrest that traitor and put him in jail in El Salvador.
TheHappyHermit
yeah but now he/maga will whine and cry and play the victim card

FBI sent Milwaukee Alderman Michael McGee to Federal prison for shaking down local business for bribes and paying people $5 to vote for him.
If a black man can go to prison for $5, a white man should go to prison for $1m

Maybe if we start referring to him by his continent of origin, they'd be more willing to arrest him
mksu
Prison. I'm tired of this shit. Whether he backs off of it or not, Musk is openly meddling in elections, and the more he gets away with it, the more other billionaires will be emboldened to do the same. It's time for some fucking consequences.
AllTheKitties
Right. Backing off doesn't change the harm caused. He did the crime. Punish him.
TankardHoot
killbillsexwife
This blows my mind. He would be jailed in any other country for even suggesting it.
Comet260
socraticmeathead
Prison or it's just the cost of doing business, period.
CoeurFranc
From an outside perspective, the American justice system appears to have no hold on right-wing reactionaries, and their impunity seems virtually limitless.
UnoriginalPieceOfRepeatingShit
Time for some December 4th, 2024 type consequences
Qualtagh
he already has paid people; the local reddits include people talking about taking $100 payments for some nonsense he's offering.
JohnnySilverballs
This Wisconsinite is 100% voting for Crawford.
MattDude
seehemewe
I’d love it if a bunch of Crawford supporters registered for Musk’s event and just took it over
NKato
Vote for him after he issues an arrest warrant. This is more legal posturing than consequences
