This happened in a narrow window, after pretty much everyone could text and send photos, but before every stranger texting you was a foreign scammer. It's a great counter to the folks that claim voice calls are better because texting is impersonal - a voice call would have immediately resulted in "sorry, wrong number." Yet somehow this bad text resulted in "you have a new family!" It's also a good example of the power of simple civility, although this is the internet, so...
