Found a site that sells 10mm sockets for about $1 a piece.
Ordered 50 of them.
Got some hot glue sticks and some magnets.
Glued the magnets to the back side of them and hid them all over his shop.
All of them organized after gluing on the magnets. He’s going to be finding them all over the place for some time.
salessendmeasign7
Well worth the effort ! nice !
copingcabana
Next time, glue electric shock buzzers on them

I need friends like this
ImADerpskiDog
Find a socket, get 10% off your purchase.
whyyesthankyou
What's the significance of them all being 10mm? Asking for a friend.
applegeek48
Running joke about never being able to find a 10mm when you need it.
jkacina
You should number them 1-50 for extra effect.
vidiv
No no... 6 to 60 and skip 1-5 and a 5 random ones along the line.
jkacina
Even better.
escudonbk
If those were all 10mm your helping.
Isselis
How tf did he manage not to lose those during shipping?? SORCERY!!
ProxyPlayerHD
but why
Crossman22
I dont get it. Sounds fun tho
Beanman97
Not all heros wear capes

I saw the first picture and thought this was going to be "I bought X 10mm sockets and now they're all gone"
AlteredFreaks
No sure what I was expecting to be honest. This was a weird prank.
dofkin
Can you play a prank on me? Can't have too many 10s
kermotherapy
It didn't occur to you that magnets do grab onto those sockets quite nicely without glue?
napsmear
Was his reaction similar to this?
bringbakfirefly
That keyboard though.
Melonfish
"Yeah we had to shut the shop, a 10mm got caught in the hydraulic lift -I don't even know how, and it dropped this beamer..."
furzinderdose
It's wasted money my friend. Everyone knows if you place a 10mm socket anywhere and don't look at it, it just disappears into the void...
HelloImAnyGuy
I love harmless practical jokes. Good job @OP
weerdo
Yup, until OP gets home and needs a 10mm socket..
Zan11
Not even harmless, it's a useful prank
FilthyLord
Not really he did glue the 10mm socket shut on tje backside so he needs to use something to heat up the glue to remove it
applegeek48
At least I didn’t super glue them.
previoustopcomment
Hot glue peels off smooth surfaces pretty easily, a pair of pliers will tear that off quick and easy
TheMightyMoto
Neat
methos343
Had a friend who hated noises and rattles in his van... Bought 36 kitten rattle balls (little bells in em) stuck them everywhere in his van
methos343
Inside door panels, seats etc.... Every bump 36 angels got their wings! ???
blkbox
Did the same to a friend where I hid 20 single-mode fiber SFPs (don't worry, they were ubiquitis).

Midland hardware.
dlarrydlarry
So what site is this?
applegeek48
Search midland hardware 10mm on google.
tornadosandwich
eBay has them new for $0.99 free shipping each
AlaSnackbar
The most important question here.
Dante805
They probobly super cheap quality too and could bend and eventually strip bolts
KiyoshiInoto
Quick question, how would the socket strip the bolt? If the bolt were good wouldn’t the poor quality socket be damaged?

SneakorsMcSneakorsface
You mean 'round' bolts.
GloomyGusterson
Scrolled down just to find this comment.
torrias
You don't want a $1 socket
LeftRightThere
But what if you did...?
trollprozac
I got some for 50c but they were used.

ReginaKasteen
What's the goal of the magnets? Just making them easier to stick in wacky places?
HighFlyKai
Yeah I don't get it
applegeek48
Stick them to tool boxes, light switches, the air compressor, ac vents, any screw in the wall
Magicclone
You said you ordered 50 of them, yet in your last picture there was only 25. Hmmm
ColoradoGaz
Thank you! I thought I missed a step in there where he glued 2 together or something.
GreaseMonkeyOfLove
His friend will find 2. And then lose them AND the one in his tool box.
Leonon
They are already lost.
Bob64
Congrats! You've discovered the radioactive half-life properties of the 10mm!
applegeek48
They were double stacked on the magnets
shadowex3
Exactly, little bastards disappear that fast
Teawrecks66
So you're prank was being a good person?
OrangeFlavours
The prank is fucking around with somebody man.
Kuremisago
your*
Estoyp00ping
Oh baby, he got pranked real good.
SaintCody
I mean, if you can get the magnet and glue off. But i suppose a torch would make quick work of that.
dreadpiratekirk
Right? I would be so happy to find 10mm sockets just hidden around
nicouk
You can't use them because of the glue though.
shigetsu
its hot glue. a peel of the finger and its probably already clean. if it isnt the minor addition of a little knife work and your good
shigetsu
or anything to scrape it a lil really. a stick or some broken plastic or basically anything will do the trick with hot glue
SteevyT
Alternatively I bet you could blow torch it out pretty easily.
shigetsu
also a good idea. never actually thought of that
Turalisj
It's gorilla glue. That shit ain't coming off easy.
shigetsu
from my lazy 2 am googling i found it was a vinyl based thermoplastic glue. which leads me to believe its probably a variety of >
shigetsu
2> Ethylene-vinyl acetate which is actually the cheap stuff. and considering its $10 for a pack of 45 4" sticks its nothing special
