It's a wasted vote and amounts to nothing but being able to say "I did it"

This should be front-paged, but people want to stick their fingers in their ears.

I picture all the 3rd party voters like that meme of ralph wiggums "I'm helping!"

Gary Johnson can't make a single foreign leader, he's not a real candidate

It's only a two party system because we let it be.

Partys financially benefit from votes. and this mindset is what keeps it a 2 party system.

I think there's many ways to see this... and one of them is the defeated way. "I can't affect change so why bother"

It's a wasted vote because most people won't vote 3rd party. Most people won't vote 3rd party because they consider that a wasted vote. Huh.

It's a self fulfilling prophecy. Fuck you @OP. The only way to change a system is to take part in that change.

When Hillary wins with only 45 to 50% popularity vote, every senator realizes her ideals arent appreciated. They will tend to bow to that.

I don't think you understand politics.

Let her win, let trump win, but not without showing popularity support in a different direction to control the senators and congressmen.

They don't control Congress. There are separation of powers for a reason.

If Hillary has 40% popular support, that means 60% of voters are against her, even tho she wins Electoral. That means any senator that moves

In favor with Hillary has likely 60% of the population against them. In 2 years, their seats may be up. Their carreers often end silently.

This is why the Popularity Vote matters. Else you wouldn't see it. It's why lower pop% presidents see fewer releected legislators.
